14 years later…Year 3364
The sound of footsteps can be heard from a passage of a building. The passage itself is surrounded by marble tiles and stone-painted walls. The light shines above the source and it reveals to be a werewolf in a business suit radiating confidence and intimidation. He walks to a room with a slightly nervous look.
Once he enters the room, he's greeted by a few more werewolves looking at him intently, while standing up. They bow to him with their upper body as a sign of respect. After they're done, they take their seats. The werewolf leader takes his seat to discuss a certain topic.
"So, anything new about those things?"
"No Alpha president."
"Didn't we send out an investigation team?"
"That's the thing Alpha president. We have, but we haven't heard back from them."
The Alpha president slams his fist on the table out of frustration making some of the werewolves gulp in nervousness.
"Dammit! So, you're telling me that they just disappeared?"
"W-W-Well, seeing as they haven't come back by now and there's no communication; that is a possibility Alpha president. For that, I apologise."
The Alpha president grabs his hair in frustration due to the distress of the situation. "This situation is getting worse by the second."
"So Alpha president, what's our next move?"
"For now, nothing. Dismissed."
And with that, everyone leaves. While everyone leaves, the Alpha president stays. He's the most distressed out of the Werewolf Council. Ever since the dark creatures made their appearance, everything turned to chaos. Eventually, the Alpha president leaves the premises and drives home.
Once he arrives home, he immediately walks up the stairs to his bedroom but is stopped by an adult female voice. "You're back earlier than usual." The Alpha president searches for the voice and finds it to be his wife. "Yeah, didn't think it would go so smoothly," the Alpha president says with some slight nervousness. He hopes that his wife wouldn't pick up on that, but he was met with an unfortunate statement.
"I know you're lying to me when you said that."
"What makes you think that?"
"You can't fool me, honey. We've been married for 10 years, so I know I can pick up on the little things in what you're saying. So please tell me, what's wrong?"
Seeing as he can't get escape this, he gives in and decides to tell the discussion that he had with his associates. Upon hearing this, the wife gives her husband a comforting hug.
"I know that all may seem lost now, but you can't give up yet."
"I know that, but what's the point? I've been trying, but it's all pointless." Tears threaten to fall from his eyes upon saying those words. Seeing this, the wife holds his face and brushes off his tears saying, "Look, just think of why you're doing all of this. I know it may seem hopeless now, but I know that we can all fight through this." The wife's head makes contact with her husband's embracing each other.
Meanwhile…
A female figure is seen running in a forest at high speed. The pace she's running at makes it clear that she's running away from someone.
"(I need to keep going. I can't slow down for even a split second.)"
The female becomes scared of what will happen if she slows down her pace. She looks behind her to make sure that the person who's not chasing her is not on her trail, but she sees no one. She gets shocked as she swore that she saw someone there. She shakes it off thinking that she outran the person following. She looks forward and sees the person right in front of her. She curses to herself and immediately tries to slow down and go in the other direction, but before she could do any of that, the figure suddenly appears from behind. From the naked eye, it may seem as though the figure teleported behind her, but actually, he moved extremely fast. The female now stands motionless with a horrified look. Then her head slowly fell to the ground.
"Word of advice, if you're running away from someone, don't turn to look behind you."
The figure said calmly before teleporting to a different place as the female slowly disintegrates from the earth. The figure is revealed to be a male with a narrowed face, short spiky charcoal hair, and a slight dark glow at the ends. He wears a short-sleeved ninja outfit with a face mask, that only covers his mouth, as well as two katanas strapped to his back. He also wears black gloves with his fingers revealed, along with an armband on one of his arms. And to top it off, he wears a jet-black cloak
The figure arrives at an island that has a three-story cabin nearby. Immediately when he teleported to the island, he gets tackled by a human-sized dragon with jet-black scales and crystal-looking wings, along with her narrower face. The dragon licks his face.
"You missed me that much Somara?"
The dragon, now named Somara, gives the figure a nod and lets him go. Then two people came out of the cabin and go to him
"Took you long enough. So?"
One of the figures is a male with an oval-shaped face and spiky long hair reaching his neck. The colour of the said hair is black with purple highlights. He also has facial hair at the bottom of his chin. He wears a T-shirt with ripped jeans and black takkies. The other figure is a female with a circular-looking face, along with her werewolf ears and tail sticking, and her ruby red hair being short and wavy. She currently wears dagger-shaped glasses with long pants, sandals and a T-shirt.
The female figure asks Katanu whether there was any lead to go with the recent attacks. Katanu looks at the two and gives a disappointing answer. "No."
"Well, that was a letdown," says the long-haired male in disappointment.
"We've been doing this, but end up coming out empty-handed. Even if we just have a little bit of information, I would've been satisfied."
"The one I encountered just now is a bit stronger than the rest," says Katanu to try and reassure the two
"Really… It's the same with the others we've encountered. It seems like the more we keep hunting, the stronger they become."
"There's no point in talking about what we know already. Let's just go in and rest," said the female figure. The two males nod before going into the cabin
Upon entering the cabin, the interior looks like that of a medieval house but futurised. The floor is decorated with marble tiles, the wall is filled with crystal-looking bricks, and the furniture is modernised. The four are greeted with an aroma surrounding the whole room. They look to see a male muscular figure with ash-coloured skin, wavy short hair, and a bit of facial hair. The figure looks at the four and says, "Hey Katanu, you're back. Anything new?"
The charcoal-haired individual, Katanu, shakes his head in disappointment. The muscular male becomes grumpy seeing that he got a disappointing response.
So as a way to lighten the mood, the female says, "Look on the bright side Reji, we at least know that they get stronger the more we hunt them." But from looking at Reji's facial expression, it's obvious that what the female said just made him grumpier. "Yeah, thanks for telling me something I already know Noribara," said Reji in a grumpy mood towards the female now known as Noribara.
While they're talking among themselves, Katanu is seen walking to the couch of the lounge lost in thought as he figures out his next move. This doesn't go unnoticed by a certain long-haired individual. He follows Katanu and sits next to him on the couch. He looks at Katanu briefly before looking in the other direction and saying, "Let me guess, you're thinking of how we can get better leagues?"
Katanu continues to be silent, while still maintaining his calm expression. After a few seconds of silence; he responds with his eyes closed, "Yes, but it's pointless." He gets up from the couch, but just as he does a transmitter goes at the TV. The group looks on to see that it's a news report broadcasting two werewolf females.
"Hello everyone and today it's the news and just the news. Today we'll have our news presenter Cathy talking about today's report."
"Thank you, Tamaya. There have been reports of some kind of strange black goo spotted at some buildings in Alpaca city, but it seems that most of this goo is at an old abandoned factory near the city. As strange as it is, the goo itself is causing some kind of effect on the werewolves residing in that city, such as nausea, headaches and so on."
The news shows sights of the black goo seeping out of the buildings of the city. The group have a serious look plastered on their faces before Reji says, "So what are we waiting for, we going or what?"
"Hold on Reji, don't be so hasty now," says the long-haired male.
"Come on now Taka, this could be what we're looking for," says Noribara in a motivated tone. Katanu continues to look at the screen brainstorming ideas before saying, "Hey guys," this gets the attention of the group as they look at him waiting for his response. "Where are Yavier and Sabira?" This question makes the group give Katanu a sarcastic gaze. "They're somewhere around the island exploring, why?" Asked Taka in a nonchalant tone.
"Then the five of us will have to go and investigate this ourselves," said Katanu dismissively.
"Wait, five?" Asked Reji in confusion.
"Yeah, she's coming with us," Katanu says pointing to Samara. The news excites her as she makes her way to him licking his face.
…
Somewhere in the forest, a faint light can be seen in a far-off distance. The light dies down revealing 5 figures with werewolf ears and tails. "I don't think I'm ever going to get use to this," says one of the figures holding his tail in discomfort. "It is what it is Taka," says the female figure, who reveals herself to be Sabira. "That's for you to say, you and Katanu are werewolves yourselves," says a muscular male figure, who reveals himself to be Reji. The last two figures show themselves to be Katanu and Samara but instead of her being a dragon, she's taken in a werewolf form, the same can be said about Reji and Taka as they are disguising themselves as werewolves to blend in.
Samara can be seen dosing off not paying attention to anything around her. She instinctively goes down into a crouching position. This quickly notifies Katanu as he lifts her telling her to not do that again unless she shifted back to her dragon form.
The group walk in the distance where Taka uses his magic to build a vehicle. They get in and drive into Alpaca city.
Once they made it, they are greeted with a foul smell. "Ugh, where the hell is the smell coming from?" asks Sabira immediately covering her nose. "I think it has something to do with the black goo that's been reported here," says Katanu.
As they keep moving, they see the black goo everywhere, along with it radiating a bit of black smoke. The group look on in disbelief because even though they've seen it in the news, it didn't prepare them for when they're seeing it. They move on and look for a place to rent for the night. They stop at a motel and book 2 rooms.
Once they've settled in, they start discussing the plan in one room. "So, by the time nightfall hits, that's when we make our move into the abandoned warehouse," says Katanu as they all nod understanding the plan.
Nightfall hits and the group leave their rooms and fly to the warehouse. Upon arriving, they see that the majority of the tower is littered with black goo. Sabira is the first one to enter but just as she's about to, she's stopped by Reji asking, "What are you doing?"
"What does it look like, I'm going in," says Sabira confused about why Reji said that to her. "Well, at least Reji can think straight unlike you," says Taka. Just as Sabira is about to argue back at Taka, Katanu intervenes, "Look, we can't go in blind. We don't even know if we're walking into a trap or not." "So, what do you suggest we do then?" asks Sabira. "We'll walk in but be careful, we don't know what to expect," says Katanu.
So, the group walk into the warehouse but before Taka and Katanu form a barrier cloak around themselves to protect them from the radiation they could get from the black goo. As soon as they get in, they hear a sinister echoing in the building.
"How bold of you to enter my domain."
As soon as the voice says that, the building shakes slightly, the doesn't faze the group but this does keep their guard up. "Hmm… interesting. Out of all of you, four of your scent is similar to that mine, interesting indeed," the voice says before mischievously chuckling to herself. Suddenly, a pillar of darkness forms in the centre drawing the attention of the group. The pillar dies down revealing a female werewolf figure surrounded by a black aura and her appearance looking very dark and sinister. The appearance shocks the group a bit because what they're seeing is a werewolf that also looks like the creatures that they've been dealing with… the Darklings.
