Chapter 8 - Not To Be Harmed (Ch.8)

Chantria pulled away after alternating between chest compressions and mouth to mouth ventilation for the second time.

She watched in relief as the beautiful man jerked, his head tilting to the side as he violently coughed out mouthfuls of water, gasping for breath.

"Shhh...easy there, you're okay now, you're fine." Chantria assured, rubbing soothing circles down his back, hoping it would calm him.

The head of the beautiful man jerked up in shock, turning to meet Chantria's gaze, his eyes widened for a moment before he leaped into Chantria's arms, the force pushing Chantria down to her back.

Chantria was momentarily caught off guard by the force but she held the trembling male, rubbing a hand down his back soothingly.

"I'm sorry Your Grace... I'm so so sorry! I don't dare hope for your forgiveness but I never intended to hurt you, I swear it!" He cried while the crowd looked on.

'What was he on about?' Chantria wondered,

"Hold up a moment...do I know you?" Chantria asked, pushing the beautiful man back as gently as she could but firmly enough so he actually moved.

Chantria then sat up again and fixed the sobbing male with a blank stare.

Chantria's question seemed to stun the beautiful man for a moment and then he sobbed even louder, his entire form trembling.

"Your Grace... please don't be like this to me, I truly didn't mean to hurt you. Don't send me away please." The beautiful man pleaded desperately, holding onto Chantria's hand.

"Murderer! You deserve to be killed!" Someone in the crowd exclaimed, the sudden shout startling Chantria.

"The deep is ever supreme and our Noble Saint lives, but your treachery will not be forgiven!" Another voice cried furiously,

The beautiful mam sobbed even harder as he lifted a pleading gaze to Chantria.

"If you ask me to die to prove my innocence, then I shall die with no questions asked...but please believe me Your Grace, I just need you to believe me." He cried,

Chantria blinked in astonishment, she could not understand just what was going on and why everyone was addressing her as some 'Saint'.

'I am the Saint Chantria he murdered?!' Chantria thought in bafflement.

"Your Grace, Amir pleads innocent... please believe him just this once, he would never hurt you." The red haired man also supported,

"What are you all going on about? Who are you?" Chantria asked the red haired man.

The eyes of the red haired man widened as he exchanged a glance with the other muscular man who leaned down beside Chantria.

"Your Grace...you do not remember us?" The muscular man asked for confirmation.

'Remember?! I sure do remember! I remember that I do not know you at all! I would remember such unforgettable faces!' Chantria thought to herself with a frown.

However visibly, Chantria settled for a slow shake of her head.

"The Noble Saint has lost her memories! Amir Naeem must die!" The crowd once again broke into outraged chants.

Chantria panicked as she watched their predatory gazes, the man from the boat had also returned ashore and his hand as well as the hand of every other soldier present was rested on the hilt of their sword.

"Your Grace, you are the only one who can save Amir..."

"You saved him just now, it means you also cannot watch him die. If you do not give an order now, he will die!" The muscular man exclaimed, his hand also going to the hilt of his sword as he watched the soldiers with wary eyes.

Chantria felt a sharp pain rush through her head from the unceasing shouts and the unbelievable situation,

She lifted her hand to cradle her head as her gaze grew unfocused and Chantria knew for sure she would black out at any moment now.

"Impudence! You dared harm my sister, if the deep will not claim your life, I will take your head myself!" Another new voice entirely appeared, the domineering voice sending the chanting crowd into silence.

Chantria could barely make out the face of the new presence, her vision had grown hazy and unclear and the pounding pain in her head only grew with the passing of time.

"Prince... Prince Dewei..." A voice Chantria recognized as belonging to the red haired man stuttered.

"You were tasked with carrying out His Majesty's orders and you just stand over there?! Letting that murderer close to my sister?!" The voice of Prince Dewei sounded in rage.

Chantria assumed this Prince Dewei was referring to the man from the boat.

"Take the criminal away this instant!" The Prince ordered,

Chantria heard the pitiful sobbing of the beautiful man and her heart constricted painfully, rage surging from within her.

"That is enough!" Chantria roared and as though in response to her words, she heard a violent crash of waves in the background.

"Chan...?" The Prince asked warily.

"He is not to be harmed! No one dares lay a hand on him, you hear me?!" Chantria snapped, her breath coming out in pants.

Chantria's tone was commanding and domineering, the kind that did not allow room for any questions or disagreement.

With the black spots dancing across her vision, Chantria did not have the luxury to bite her words.

Although Chantria was still worried, somewhere within her, Chantria did know that as long as she gave the order, even if she fell unconscious, no one would lay a hand on him.

"You are not allowed to touch him, you are not allowed to touch the other two as well! Whoever dares tousle even a hair wrongly will be the next tossed to the bottom of the ocean!" Chantria added for good measure.

And precisely at that moment, all the strength left her and she blacked out, collapsing to the sands of the sea shore unconscious.

And the very last thought that ran through Chantria's mind was,

'It's good that harem system already recorded the hidden mission as completed...I did end up falling unconscious after all.'
