The gnawing silence affected Ariel as she stared at their reaction. She had been waiting for a reply but she received none. Her heart beat was loud enough for anyone close to her to hear.
Her legs became weak and her hands turned cold. She patiently waited for someone to say something but they only stared back. It continued for some minutes before the silence was broken.
Marie's mom cleared her throat and everyone snapped out of their shock.
"Nevertheless, you still look pretty," Marie's mom spoke out first as she stared at her with loving eyes.
"I still like you, you are beautiful!" Marie added
The entire family's reaction sent a nostalgic feeling across her body. A huge bulge formed in her throat as she tried to swallow down the pain. The corners of her eyes itched and her face became hot. She sniffed back the water that tried to escape from her nose. Her entire body felt weak.
