I rolled to my side and cradled her on my chest. 

We talked for what seemed to be hours. She told me about the time she first realized she had a crush on me.

"It was the day when you fell down from the stairs at school."

It all made sense now. "That was why you left like you were being chased?"

She played with my hair. "Something like that."

I laughed huskily, tangling her legs with mine. "And here I was thinking I did something to make you very angry."

"Now that I'm thinking about it, I might have had a crush on you the day we met."

"Liar," I accused. "You hated me."

She shook her head. "I never hated you. I was bothered and plagued by you, but that's not at all the same thing." She propped herself up on one elbow and gazed down on me. "What about me?"

"It was the same for me too. Although, I thought you were too overbearing—" 

"I am not!" she protested
