Chapter 24 - Succesfully Save Vincent

"What's that?!" Clarissa pointed at a strangely large gate in the middle of the battlefield. I also glanced at the battlefield. There was no mistaking that the big snake was Zwein, and she was fighting against Master Black Rat. The battlefield was completely chaotic, even from a distance I could see the impact of the fight between the Black Rats against Zwein, who was assisted by Ritsu.

But it's not their fight that's my focus this time.

"What gate is that?" I never once saw the gate. The dark, black aura it emitted made my heart feel restless, even though I was far from the gate. I looked around and saw several corpses suddenly transforming into a monster with the effect of the gate.

Most of them became monsters befitting their own kind. The half tiger type beast turned into a tiger monster with pale eyes. The monsters dragged the surviving people into the gate by force.

"Leon, what should we do?" Han asked me. The battlefield conditions were very chaotic. Kevin and Vincent, Clarissa's younger brother, were most likely still trapped in the battlefield. I hope Kale had secured at least one of them.

"You three wait here, I'll be there alone," I said to Han, Quint and Clarissa.

"By the way, Han, Quint, please take good care of Clarissa."

Han and Quint nodded, meanwhile Clarissa also accepted my decision calmly. After confirming Clarissa's safety in the hands of Han and Quint, I immediately dashed towards the battlefield. I didn't hold back one bit. I put out all my strength. Furthermore, I am a beginner stage, Messenger-level Exor. My strength was enough to keep up with Zwein and the other pillars.

However, my priority now was not to fight Zwein or Master Black Rat. Instead, I had to search Kevin and Kale. My senses rose sharply. I focused on sense of smell and hearing. I began to carefully identify the battlefield. It wasn't long before I finally found them both.

I turned and immediately ran towards them. I could see Kale and Kevin being surrounded by the resurrected monsters thanks to the gate. As our distance got closer, I focused my strength on both my hands, and then I pushed aside the monsters that were in my way. One of the monsters intended to knock me down, I then jumped up and kicked the monster in the stomach.

"Are you all right?"

"Leon? You finally came, I thought my life would end here." Kale looked relieved after seeing me.

Meanwhile, Kevin … Did my aura scare him? I tried to suppress the ferocious aura that burst out from my body. Kevin started to calm down, he asked, "Is Clarissa okay, have you guys found Clarissa's brother?'

"Clarissa's brother is in the fortress, I intend to go in there, I have already crippled the monsters around here, you should get away from the battlefield immediately."

"Alright then, be careful, you mustn't involve in Master Black Rat's battle against Zwein and Ritsu." Kale reminded me. I nodded slowly, there wasn't much time, I immediately ran towards the fort, while Kale pulled Kevin away from the battlefield. I tried to suppress my aura as I got closer to Master Black Rat, battlefield against Zwein.

Their battle was so fierce, with the help of Ritsu, Zwein managed to excel. In giant snake mode, Zwein was wrapped around the giant black skull protecting Mister Black Rat, but the black gate seemed to be providing support to Master Black Rat, so he could still put up quite a bit of resistance.

I turned my attention back. The fort was now in chaos with various monsters surrounding it. I easily broke through, ignoring the monsters around the fortress. Then, I hit the castle door so hard that it shattered into pieces. I took a slow step into the fort. The remaining Black Rat followers should be here, but I didn't see anyone.

I continued walking into the fort. After walking down the long hallway, I arrived at the main hall. I saw that the hall was already in chaos, there were two monsters looking for living prey. They were immediately diverted when I arrived. Without hesitation, the two monsters attacked me. I shifted my body slowly, then used my hand to hit the monster's chest hard.

I then stepped forward and kicked the one remaining monster. Not only that, but I then jumped on top of the monster. Then I broke its neck so the monster died. Just after I killed the second monster, I heard screams from a room.

"Is that him?" I quickly ran towards the source of the sound. The scream came from the basement. I walked down the dark stairs to the bottom. After a while, I finally arrived at the place where the screams were heard.

I saw a boy about 7 years old locked up in prison. In front of the prison, there was a bear monster with a pitch black aura surrounding it. The monster was trying to bend the iron bars, he intended to enter the prison.

I pounced towards the monster and hit it hard. The bear monster bounced off the wall. It didn't end there, I lifted my leg and hit the monster bear's chest until it shattered. After that, I glanced at the human child in the cage.

He looks at me scared, I try to smile and put on a friendly expression.

"Ah! Please don't eat me!"

I think I'm scaring him even more. I took a deep breath then said, "Are you Vincent? Calm down kid, I'm not here to eat you, instead I'm here to save you."

Vincent was still looking at me in fear, but after hearing my words, he started to get up the courage to ask me, "Really?"

I nodded slightly, "Your sister, Clarissa, was desperate to save you, I'm here to help her to save you."

After hearing Clarissa's name, he finally believed me. He got up and approached me. I broke the iron bars to make way for him. I smiled in relief seeing Vincent finally believe me, then I crouched down with my back to Vincent.

"Get on my back."

"Close your eyes," I say after Vincent climbed onto my back and held my neck tightly. The situation outside was too chaotic, I was worried the image of war would have a negative impact on him, so I decided to let Vincent close his eyes.

After that, I immediately ran towards the outside of the fort. There were no monsters preventing me from getting out of the fort, so my journey was quite smooth. I then stepped out of the fort. However, at that moment, my instincts told me to dodge. I reflexively jumped to the right. Something rushed past where I was before and hit the fort wall so hard, it knocked down at least half of the fort.

"Ritsu?"
