"Make way!"
Liam yelled down the front hallway of the hospital. The stretcher rattled, followed by the hurried footsteps of the medical workers pushing it.
"I'll take over from here, Doctor," one of the doctors said. He had already received Liam's phone call he made on the way in the ambulance.
Liam had described the patient's state, and they had prepared the emergency treatment for her. It was a coincidence that he was near the accident and could effectively help the victim.
Her breathing came and went; her pulse was very weak that Liam helped to resuscitate her in the ambulance twice.
"Why are you here?"
Liam suddenly heard a voice behind his back. He turned and saw his friend, Zaha, approaching him.
"Isn't today the off day you had planned in months?" the long black-haired man said.
"Yeah, I've finished what needed to be done. On my way back, grabbing some coffee, and," Liam gestured with his arms weakly, "A woman across the street was hit by a truck."
