"Elle is here to search for Dad."
The twins raised their eyebrows as the black-haired girl with starry black eyes in front of them said that slowly. They sat on a thick carpet near the bed as they prepared to share their secrets.
"Your Dad?" Niamh and Damian asked.
Elle nodded. "I'm here to search for Dad to help Mom."
It was sufficient to say that Niamh and Damian were hoping for more context. They tilted their heads to the same side with questioning eyes.
"So... you see..." Elle had a very hard time trying to pick her words to explain things. "I don't know how to explain... but my Mom needs help."
Elle was just a four-year-old. She explained things in a big circle that Damian and Niamh struggled to follow, but they still tried.
"So, my Mom is trapped! And then the gods... soooooo many of them are trying to fight her! And she is winning! Or... or... I don't know... maybe she is losing? Oh no... what to do...?"
