Before everyone could react, Harriet chuckled and sang again.
“Happy birthday, my dear
I truly wish for all your dreams and desires to come true
and may you live to a 1000 years”
The atmosphere turned cheerful. Harriet's sweet and cheerful voice made everyone smile and brought them back to their senses. Liam stepped closer and blew out the candles on the cake Harriet had brought.
The man took the cake and put it on the table next to them and hugged Harriet tightly.
“You surprised me… thank you, Madam,” he whispered.
Harriet hugged Liam back, and she chuckled. “Oh, when I heard that His Grace and Her Grace were visiting, I knew right away that they were coming to celebrate your birthday…”
Liam let go of his arms and looked down at Harriet's face looking up at him. “And how did you prepare all this? I wasn't aware at all."
Harriet turned to everyone in the room and widened her smile as she looked back at Liam. "Doesn't that mean the surprise worked?"
