13. Exactly ten days after Prince Zephyr Juna de Arcania fell into a coma, Count Alan gathered all council members and prominent businessmen of the city in the council hall of the governor's mansion.
Kylo and other council members collaborated with the city's leading businessmen. So they entered the assembly hall together and sat in the right corner of the table—the furthest corner from the governor's seat.
"No matter who it is! Not the prince, even if it is the king himself, he has to bow to us in Twilight County," reproached one man, Isaiah Graham of the Graham Company, who controlled half of the mines in the city.
The Graham Company was just one of Kylo's client companies. They received news from each mine located within the provincial borders and their rights were usually sold to them.
"Don't get upset right away. The title of prince is just an ornament," Kylo said, slating his chubby fingers on the table while his poisonous eyes fixed on the door of the hall. He was late on purpose, but how could he have known that the prince had not yet arrived?
"So arrogant! Why should we take seriously a prince whom even the nobility does not take seriously? There are dozens of children in the palace who can take his place," Inspector Jasper interjected, thinking like the others. The prince had to obey and let them control him.
At that moment, an old voice was heard from the entrance, "Governor 13. Prince Zephyr Juna de Arcania and Count Alan Santis were honored!"
Zephyr and Alan entered the hall with Roguelin and several royal guards at his side. Once Zephyr entered, he sat at the very corner of the rectangular table, right opposite it, without looking at the deputy governor and other councillors.
Alan stood at Zephyr's head and looked at those in the hall. As civil servants; Deputy Governor Kylo, Inspector Jasper, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Mineral Resources, Provincial Director of the Tax Office, Provincial Registrar, Provincial Director of the Ministry of Commerce, Provincial Attorney General of the Ministry of Justice, District Port Head from the Ministry of Transport and Maritime and the Garrison Commander were here.
Also as powerful figures who are not civil servants; Isaiah Graham, Managing Director of Graham Company, Anthony Merikh, Lord of Twilight Merikh Household, a branch of House Merikh, Marshall Hawking, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Marshmaker Company, and a few others were here.
They were all mentioned in the province. Twilight was a province consisting of the only city without a village attached to it. It was quite small, so it was quite small in the assembly.
Alan sighed deeply. Although they were strong people, none of them had the ability to straighten with both hands.
Zephyr closed his eyes and leaned against his seat, putting his hand on his head. Alan started the conversation as they had previously agreed.
"Although the Governor of Twilight woke up, none of you came to greet him," Alan began, and no one cared, even though his voice was threatening.
Zephyr didn't say anything.
"Unlike somebody, we have a lot of work to do," Inspector Jasper murmured in a low voice.
"Did you say something, Royal Inspector?"
A youthful voice was heard, Zephyr staring into Jasper's eyes with his eyes open. The moonlight blue eyes he received from his mother resembled those of a fox.
"What we want to say is that the governor," Isaiah stood up and began to speak. "We were running this city before we established a council of the kingdom, and we will rule from now on."
"And you're going to understand that and you're going to keep up with us," Kylo interjected. From the very beginning the whole assembly was on his side, and from now on he will be on his side.
He had gained this power through years of work.
He had never had any intention of handing over all the power he had to a brave whose mouth smelled of milk!
That is why he did not hesitate to go to bed with the enemies of the prince. He eventually succeeded and sold the prince's roadmap for a nice sum. And he was already rewarded for it.
"Yes! Yes! Not you, even if the king comes, our rules apply to the city."
"You have to keep up with us."
Even the officers had no problem raising their voices. Yet even ministers should treat with respect the 13th century, who has been rewarded with the title of 'prince' since birth. There was Prince Zephyr.
But no matter what they said, Zephyr didn't break his hoard.
"I understand. Does everyone here think so?"
"Yes!" were voices from councillors.
"Alright, it's worth clarifying."
Zephyr closed his eyes after saying this sentence.
"If you think so, raise your hand."
They did not hesitate to raise their hands.
Everyone raised their hands except two people.
Kylo looked at the two people who didn't raise their hands. He soured his face and internally created several scenarios that would determine their fate.
Zephyr was not surprised.
He made only one move.
He snapped his finger.
"Hah?!"
Kylo's face turned red. He was not surprised that the Garrison Commander sitting next to him could not even react when his head was blown up by Roguelin. His hand snapped and he fell on the table.
Screams of horror followed.
Roguelin and two guards beheaded all but three others in just a few seconds. They didn't even hesitate for a moment in doing so.
"Üff... Huff... Puff ..."
Kylo was holding his right hand while taking deep breaths. His whole body was washed in cold sweat, so scared that he peed underneath.
"Stupid guy," Roguelin grabbed her by the throat and brought her in front of Zephyr. Then he hit her knees and forced her to kneel.
"Ahhhh!"
Kylo was shedding tears and trembling with fear.
"If you do... Üff... You killed too many people... Huh... Ahh! The Duke will not forgive you... Puff ..."
It hurt so much that he could only speak through his teeth.
"It hurts a lot, doesn't it?"
Zephyr stepped on his wound with his foot.
"Hrgh!"
Kylo wanted to shout, but Roguelin's wide hand covered his mouth and nothing came out of it except a few growls.
"Nice. Remember this pain well. Remember that you will never forget who you are dancing with. Now disappear from my sight."
Roguelin let him go. Kylo was a little stunned at first, but he wasn't stupid enough to squander this opportunity. He did not hesitate for a moment before leaving the hall.
Zephyr looked at the two remaining councillors.
Marshall Hawking and Provincial Attorney General Enna cowered in fear. Marshall was a seventy-something, with long blonde hair and blue eyes, with a look that didn't attract much attention. Although he was only in his late thirties, he was the general manager of a large company.
Attorney General Enna is in her early forties but is already beginning to look like an old woman. Although he was the Justice Department's representative in Twilight, he served the interests of Kylo and council members.
He had altered files, blamed dissidents, and money laundering had helped them. He also skillfully repelled lawsuits filed by others.
At this time the drool was snotty.
"You have both committed great sins. You have to help me if you want to survive. Got it?"
Enna and Marshall were stiffened by these cold words, but they immediately shook their heads.
"Good, wait for my orders. You can get out."
The two left the hall with trembling legs. As they were leaving, a guard came and whispered something in Roguelin's ear. After shaking his head, Roguelin said, "Your Majesty, everything is ready."
Zephyr got up from his seat and walked over, accompanied by Alan, Roguelin, and two guards. As they advanced, a servant came and wiped the blood from his feet. Several servants also entered the room and pulled out the severed heads. For just a few minutes the whole mansion worked perfectly.
After everything was prepared, he left the mansion and went to the city square. As soon as the royal carriage stepped on the road where the blue carpets were laid, the cheers broke out. Garrison soldiers lined up around the carpet were here to welcome the new governor. While the public had no hope of a new governor, it was exciting to see someone who belonged to the royals.
The carriage made its way up to the high platform in the square and finally stopped. Roguelin got off his horse and opened the door of the carriage. First, Alan landed and helped Zephyr get off by taking his hand. Her stylish clothes, the beautiful face she got from her mother were revealed.
He slowly climbed the stairs leading to the platform. Meanwhile, guards from the cars in the back followed them closely with poles and huge boxes.
"Where is the deputy governor?"
"I can't see the other officials either."
The mere presence of guards led to the hair loss of a few intelligent citizens. Immediately afterwards, whispers broke out and the cheers gave way to silence.
The prince had taken his place on the platform.
The crowd watched with excitement what was going to happen. Even if they didn't think the prince would fix everything in the future, they hoped it would prevent the situation from getting worse. This is what the public has learned; desperation.
Zephyr took a deep breath and spoke to the stone, a wonder of magic.
He said only two words.
"I understand you."
The silence of a moment dissipated as a result of a deafening noise when his words were digested. The prince understood them.
He didn't say anything else and just clapped his hand. The safes behind him were opened at that moment, and the severed heads were uncovered. Screams rose from the crowd, but excited shouts immediately followed.
Zephyr was replaced by Alan and withdrew.
"Twilight is an important province with the potential to be among the major provinces. But the parasites inside did not hesitate to fill their own pockets while damaging the city. Today, His Majesty 13, who fulfilled his first duty as governor, will be honored by the 13th Governor. Prince Zephyr Juna de Arcania followed the will of God and punished the traitors."
He raised his voice.
"Enemies are everywhere! They are hidden among us, they are lurking outside! But we, as one, will raise ourselves higher and drive them out. We hear your voice! Follow our prince, who is a beacon in the dark, a beacon of hope!"
Alan had spoken many times before. So he knew how to excite people. Their accents, gestures, hand gestures and tone of voice were planned in such a way as to boil the blood of the person.
The demonic power of words set the crowd in motion.
Count Alan spoke of the glory of the kingdom and what the prince would do. Applause rose. People began to dream about the future.
And the conversation came to an end.
"For the Twilight of the North!"
"FOR THE TWILIGHT OF THE NORTH!"
"For Zephyr, Prince of the North!"
"FOR ZEPHYR, PRINCE OF THE NORTH!"
The crowd began to cheer with excitement.
"Your soul has touched our hearts! Our prince wants to reward you!"
Huge crates brought in by cars were opened. There were thousands of silvers in them. These were so numerous that they accounted for half of the prince's entire assets.
The guards began to scatter silver coins, which they had taken into their hands. The cheers went to the maximum limit, so loud that they could be heard even from outside the city.
Watching the frantic crowd, Alan smiled slightly.
The plan was successful.
