The water god ran up Mt. Amaki, the tune was getting louder every step he took. "This is probably a stupid decision but whatever works." Kaito mumbled again. His feet was covered in dust and he could see the beautiful berry bushes passing by. The water god took some deep breaths. As he reached a small cabin, he saw the sun god, Yoko, the one playing the flute. "Yoko? Why are you down here?" Kaito asked. "I mean, I should be asking the same thing." Yoko giggled.
The sun god had bright orange hair, it was pretty short and a bit spiky. He also wore a lavish yukata, that was of course orange and had many beautiful patterns on it. The yukata only covered most of his chest, so some areas were a bit exposed.
The sun god requested, "Would you like to come in and enjoy a bit with us, Kaito?"
"Us?" Kaito was confused. "Was there another god or being inside?"
"Yeah! Shinjiro-dono is with me. He's been quite exhausted." Yoko replied.
'What is Shinjiro-san doing here?' The water god sighed.
Yoko and Kaito went inside the small cabin. It was made out of light brown wood. There was a carpet inside, some paintings, some beds, and a small place to cook. The perfect place for vacationers looking to live somewhere peaceful and small. Shinjiro was sitting on one of the carpets, gobbling up some food. "You know Yoko, your cooking is delicious. You should probably be the god of cooking by now." Shinjiro chuckled with his mouth full of rice.
Kaito sat down with the sun and death god. "Looks like Yoko invited another guest." Shinjiro smiled with joy. "So Shinjiro-san, shouldn't you be managing things in hell right now? When you took off, you said you were going to descend to hell not earth?" Kaito was bewildered by surprise. The death god responded, "Well sometimes the mortal world is the perfect place for rest. You can enjoy the worldly things the mortals created. They're the most skilled beings here."
"Anyways would you like some rice, Kaito?" Shinjiro asked.
"Alright." The water god answered.
The three deities spent their time eating and conversing. It was enjoyable for all of them. Although it started to get late. The moon was coming forth up in the clouds. The three gods gazed at it. "I think it's a wanning crescent this night. Look at it. Most of the moon is dark." Shinjiro looked upon the sky. There was a window next to the door, it showed the bright moon outshining the night sky.
"Let's head to bed. I want to admire the moon more over there." Shinjiro stood up. He walked to the small bedroom. It had 4 mats to lay on. The deities laid on each mat. "I never laid on this type of bed for so long. It's so simple yet so comfy. " Yoko yawned. Kaito was sitting on the mat rather than laying. He turned around and looked at Shinjiro. Shinjiro stared back at the water god, "What are you looking at? Are you admiring me?" The god of death smiled. "What?! No!" Kaito was flushed.
"Kaito, go lay down." Shinjiro sighed. "You can't sleep sitting."
"I know, it's just I'm not going to sleep for now." Kaito gazed at the ceiling. Yoko was already asleep by the time he touched the mat. "Yoko is a fast sleeper." Kaito was surprised. The sun god was producing soft snores every several seconds. Shinjiro sat up, "Well I never knew he was a snorer too." The two of them giggled in union.
"Kaito, I have a gift to show you tomorrow." Shinjiro stared at him with a bright smile.
"Oh really?" Kaito covered his mouth with his hand.
'It's only a few days since I met this guy, yet he treats me like a brother' The water god grinned.
Shinjiro tucked in his hair, and laid down with his hands beneath his head. He closed his eyes and took a rest. Kaito then laid down and slept. He took deep breaths. The water god was experiencing a feeling of peace. The mortal world was almost without calamity. They built their own establishments and usually had fun.
It soon was the middle of the night, and the water god suddenly woke up. Yoko was here but Shinjiro disappeared. He walked out of the cabin and looked for Shinjiro. The water god was getting afraid that something might had happened to Shinjiro. "Shinjiro!" The deity cried out. Sweat was dripping from his face and concern was trapping him up. "Shinjiro! Where are you!" He kept yelling. He reached the flower field where he had landed. The water god saw Shinjiro with his hands behind his back, staring at the wanning crescent.
"Shinjiro, why are you here?" Kaito asked.
The god of death turned around with a smile, and the air let out a breeze.
