Chapter 16 - Chapter 15

I open my eyes after a very...disturbing dream. I should not have kissed him, is what I tell myself after that.

I dreamed about Mr.Oberoi. It was him and me. Just the two of us. We did things...

"Morning." I almost slip down the bed. Mr.Oberoi comes closer and gives me a peck. I look at him with wide eyes.

"Morning." I say distracted. He and his disappearance of shirts.

I pull the sheets over my eyes and say, "You should wear something."

My face was red and hot.

"I thought you liked the view?" He teases.

"Just wear a shirt, Mr.Oberoi." I sigh sitting up.

He had one already. He grins at me. Irritating.

"Moving day." He reminds.

We wake up and get ready. We have breakfast together. Mr.Oberoi was a rather clingy person. He'd been kissing me all the morning. Strangely, I found this cute. But in my gut I knew what we were doing.

"My baby." Mira gushes as soon as we reach the apartment. She hugs me tightly. It had been days since we last saw each other. I give her a small peck on her cheek.

"I'm so excited." She says. "We can see more of each other now."

"Not sure she'd want that." Niya says teasingly. I roll my eyes but can't help but smile. "Mr.husband is here."

We all turn around to look at Mr.Oberoi walking towards us. Even I couldn't deny my husband was very handsome.

"Hi." I say as he stands beside me.

"Hey." He gives me a peck again and smiles at my friends.

"Hello, Mr.Oberoi." They both greet him.

"And Hello little boy." Mira says patting Sam's head. Sam flicks off her hand.

"I'm seven." He says childishly.

Everybody laughs.

"All right little man." She chuckles.

We bring our luggage in the small apartment. It wasn't actually small but after the mansion we lived in, this felt a bit small.

"Perfect." Sam says going to his room.

The house wasn't set yet. We check all the rooms. The pattern was same as my old home. A living room, a small kitchen enough to fit two people at once and two bedrooms beside each other.

Till the afternoon, everything was fixed. The rooms were set and we were tired.

We had sandwiches for lunch. Everyone took a nap till the evening.

I wake Sam at four in the afternoon. He wakes up at the first call.

"Let's go to the park at five." I suggest.

He looks at me like I said something wrong. "In that heat?" He asks.

I nod. "Yes."

He sighs but nods.

I place a glass of milk before him. He gulps it down and washes the glass himself. I was proud of him.

I look at the sun for a few seconds and decide to wait for it to go down. It was too sunny even at five.

We we were watching television when Mr.Oberoi sits beside us in his sleepy state. Then he lies down as he puts his head on my lap. I had the sudden urge to run my hands through his bushy hair thst were messy right now.

"Do you want to tag along? To the park?" I ask him. He makes a face but then nods.

We get dressed and leave for the park. Sam stood beside me, clutching the little finger. He refused to play alone. So I walked him to the swing. He sits down and I give him light pushes. Soon he is giggling as he swings.

After a few minutes, I let him get mixed in the kids and return to Mr.Oberoi who sat on a bench.

"He's still not mixing with the kids." Mr.Oberoi sighs. He was right. Sam did not play with the other kids but he did have fun.

"He's still having fun." I shrug.

"But I want him to have friends." He whines as a little pout forms on his lips. I resist the urge to kiss him right there.

"He will have friends. I think he already has." I tell him. "Sara."

"That girl is trouble." He shakes his head.

"I don't think so." I say. "She was only protecting Sam."

"By violence? That's not something I'd want my kid to learn." He says.

I scoff. "Trust me he won't." I say. "He'll never even ad much touch Somebody's hair. That's why he needs Sara."

"Still..." He sighs.

"I was a quite kid too. But I still ended up having friends. Not many but the ones I have are the best." I explain. "To make good friends you have to be yourself."

"I'll believe on this one for you." He says.

We watch as Sam jumps from swing to slide to many other things.

He did have fun though and that was enough.

We go back home when he's done. We walk hand in hand until he reaches home.
