After a week of having Hal follow me around, I was starting to get a tiny bit angry. Well my alarm clock might disagree with that, when I smashed it smithereens this morning. He was getting on my nerves. He went from standing there all quiet, talking his ass off then to be being an arrogant jerk.
Some people, like Sira, might have suggested like I like him but that's never going to happen, ever. He was a lowlife, filthy human and I would never sink down to their levels. Even though I was human before, but I don't remember my human life and therefore I never even considered the fact that I was one.
Besides, I couldn't like Hal, I had my eyes on someone else. Someone from my clan, someone who worked in my unit and that same someone with most gorgeous red eyes. Avin Carl, the most handsome and smart Trion I have ever met. He doesn't talk down to me, he respects my work and his simple touch would send shivers down my spine. Of course he just sees me as his science partner and nothing more.
I broke out of my love trance, when someone banged heavily on my bedroom door. Ugh, it's probably Hal. One week with him and he never does what he is told. He can't even agree to give me some of his blood. I opened the door with force, letting it crash into the wall. Hal jumped from where he was standing and I folded my arms.
"What do you want now?"
"General Jenkins wants to see you in his office"
"Lead the way"
"Your not going dressed like that are you?"
I looked down at my hello kitty pyjamas and shrugged my shoulders.
"It will take me over and hour to get ready, I don't think my father can wait that long"
"Fair enough"
I followed him down to my father's office, biting down my fingernails. I am always nervous whenever I am called into his office. Hal knocked and we stepped inside. My father wheeled around in his chair and he raises an eyebrow at my pyjamas.
"What? You never give me time to change"
"Just follow me into the conference room, some people would like to talk to you"
I rolled my eyes and we left Hal in his office before going down the hall into a small conference room. When I mean small, I mean it should only hold no more than five hundred people small. That's my father's idea of small. But we never use it for events anyway. Father clicked a few buttons and three screens flashed before us, each screen with a different Trion on it.
"General Jenkins, I'm glad you took time to call us back. Have you found anything about the human things?"
"No but I have bought my daughter here today, she is a bit informal but she's our top medical scientist on the job"
"Nina Spellberg. It is with great honour to finally meet the only child of General Jenkins"
"Do you know who we are?"
I shook my head looked at my father. He gave me a warm smile before nodding his head.
"We are the elders of the Trion Council. Now child give us the answers you have found"
"Okay, I don't know much of our history as much as you do, but from the Intel I receive from the government, we landed here, they accepted us but ended up harvesting our blood. For us, our blood gives us good hygiene and some sort of healing powers. But with a little bit of the Walkers blood I have managed to obtain, I still haven't been able to come up with any good results. I had a small amount and that didn't get me anywhere"
"Is there anything you would like to request from the couch to continue your research?"
"Now council, I don't think that's a wise choice"
"General Jenkins, let the girl speak"
Father shut up and regained his post on beside me. I'm not allowed to leave the base, then I shall get someone to get what I needed.
"I need live samples"
"So have any idea what you are asking? Letting one of those things in here will kill us all"
"You want answers I need subject"
The monitors got quiet and I knew the elders were talking amongst themselves. If I knew my father was going to get me to talk to the elders, I would at least changed.
"You shall have a live test subject"
"Thank you but I actually want three"
