Stellar always believed that celestials and guardians had to live normally once every 500 years, so as not to lose their humanity. At that time, their soul would be sent to a world, and they would become a mortal with no memory of their time as celestial or guardian.
As soon as they died they were sent back to Shangri-La their HQ, and all their memories would come back. It allowed them not to let their large amount of power go over their head. Unfortunately, not anyone liked that, even if Stellar did it as well.
