Cillian came down from the car and looked at the castle. He sighed and went inside. He directly went to his room and packed. He's almost done with this mission and it's not like he wants to stretch this more than it needs to. He just didn't think he would feel this guilty.
Yuxin ran down the stairs and ran to the living room. He immediately grabbed the invitation from his mother's hand and looked at it. After reading it he squealed in excitement. This is the first time Qiping has invited him to his birthday party. He's been in love with him forever so he can't let this chance pass by. He asked with a frown:
"Why is there two invitation?"
Shuyi answered:
"Cillian received an invitation too."
Yuxin's face darkened.
"Why? He can't go I forbid it, he's going to ruin my night!"
Huang who had been watching silently said:
"He's only going so we can deal with him once and for all before the board of directors meeting."
Yuxin asked sarcastically:
"What just because he goes to Qiping's party you think he'll magically disappear?"
"King is going to Qiping's birthday too and I told Cillian to bring Xiang Kai as his plus one. I instructed Xiang Kai how to act using the wrong tape he sent me as leverage. By the end of the evening King will be done with Cillian you know how cruel he is despite what he's shown him."
Yuxin looked at his father with narrowed eyes, even if he is pleased that they're almost done with Cillian he is ruining his first official night out of the office with Qiping. He's been stressed about his father not finding a way to get rid of him so he'll go along with the plan. Huang put a hand on his shoulder and reassured:
"You only have to deal with him two more days okay."
Yuxin sighed:
"Okay, I'll do it for you."
Huang and Shuyi smiled at their lovely son. They feel guilty that they had to bring a stranger into their house but everything they've done is for him so he can inherit Li Media. Huang won't let Yuxin be looked down upon by the members of his family as they do him because of his small status in the Jiang family.
King entered Cillian's room and pulled him by the hand to the dining room. Cillian sat on his lap and fed him like the night before King glanced at him and asked:
"What's wrong?"
Cillian stilled just a second then said:
"Nothing."
"What happened?"
Cillian met his eyes and gave him a peck.
"I'm fine I promise."
King knew that he was upset but he knows better than to press him when he isn't ready to talk. Furthermore, he is close to being free from Huang and his hellish family so he's probably on edge about it.
He turned his head and said:
"You can tell me anything, you don't have to keep everything in like you're used to."
Cillian unconsciously said:
"I don't think I can."
It was just a thought but it left his mind before he could stop himself. Never in his life did he wish more he could turn back time when he saw the hurt on King's face. It was like Cillian had just broken his heart. King looked down and then met his eyes.
"I meant what I said I'll prove to you that I'm sincere. It doesn't matter if it takes 20 days or 20 years."
Cillian swallowed. King kissed him tenderly and admitted:
"I love you."
Cillian looked at him wide-eyed.
"I've loved you since I first laid eyes on you. You're my soulmate Cillian."
Cillian's heartbeat was out of control and he fell unable to say anything. Cillian tried to get down from him but King had a tight hold on him. King sighed:
"You don't have to run away again I told you I'll wait as long as I have to."
Cillian looked away and said:
"I want to go home."
King hid his disappointment and said:
"I'll have someone drive you there."
Cillian came down from him and went to get his packed bag.
When he walked out of the elevator King was waiting at the entry. He looked at his full bag and smiled melancholically. Turns out Cillian had been preparing to leave way before he came back home.
He took a step forward and said:
"I'll pick you up at 8 for Qiping's birthday party."
Cillian didn't need to ask how he knew he was invited since that man knows everything. He avoided his eyes and said:
"No need Xiang Kai will pick me up."
Cillian felt slightly stunned when he felt King's dark pheromones. He faced Cillian and asked expressionlessly:
"Is he going as your date?"
Cillian looked into his dark eyes, those eyes he loves so much. He reached out for them but King held his wrist tightly in place. He asked impatiently:
"Is he going as your date or not?"
Cillian pulled back his hand and nodded.
King laughed ruthlessly.
"Very well."
"I-I need space "
"Don't worry I'll give you all the space you need."
King looked at his chauffeur and ordered:
"Drive him home."
King turned around and left without looking back. Cillian looked at him leave, he took a few steps toward him and then stopped.
He got in the car and looked out the car window. He can't be with King because it would mean that he is his soulmate and that everything that's been kept from him is way more than he ever thought. That would mean that everything he's been thinking since he entered this world is the truth and that's too scary.
He can't deal with that, he can't. Cillian took a few deep breaths to calm down his erratic heartbeat but couldn't. He bit his lip to stop himself from crying but il was all for naught.
Bliss who had been making himself scarce rubbed against his master's arm.
*Master you shouldn't leave.*
*Why?*
*Because you love him and he is your soulmate.*
Cillian asked exhausted:
*How do you even know?*
*Because he was able to sense your soul. From the moment I saw him I felt your bond.*
Cillian asked confused:
*What do you mean?*
Bliss floated up and down trying to think of a way to explain to him without betraying himself.
*Every mortal has a soulmate, they're bounded through space and time. They both have the same shadow on their soul just like you and King.*
Bliss felt nervous that Cillian might ask more but he simply said:
*I have to think about it. Retreat.*
Bliss disappeared and Cillian looked at the place he was hovering before. He just confirmed everything he thought. He took a deep breath looking out the window again.
Since he entered this world he felt like everything about this life was familiar. Even if Bliss said that feeling so deeply was normal he never believed him because he knows he was keeping a lot from him.
He's nothing more than the eyes of whoever wiped his memory and put him in charge of Blossom Central. The only way King is truly his soulmate is if Cillian was a mortal before. He shouldn't have a mark on his soul unless he was a mortal at some point and then became a celestial.
All the other celestial or heavenly beings don't have a soulmate because they're part of the creators, they were born celestials not made. He's a guardian part of the celestial which means he should be like them. But he isn't and his memory has been wiped clean. Why are they keeping all of this from him it doesn't make any sense. And why is Bliss trying to help him?
Even if he never thought he had nefarious intentions toward him he always followed the higher-up's orders but this time he tried to help him feel better. He could tell he felt relief when he didn't ask more questions. He needs some time alone to think about all of this.
Cillian gave the driver another address. When he arrived he got out of the car and entered the hotel. He booked a suite and put his bag in the walk-in closet. He doesn't want to go back to Huang's house and Zonglin's house won't be his until he inherits everything. He sat on the bed and sighed.
