Chapter 13 - Book of the damned

"Please purchase the cheapest reward box!"

"Okay!" Luna once again vanished into thin air.

*You purchased a reward box. *

*Generating a random reward*

Dorian felt suspense as he waited for the reward. After a few minutes, a golden box appeared in front of him and floated in the air. Dorian pointed his finger at it, and before he touched it, the box disappeared. In its place, a black book engraved with skulls appeared. It emitted a weird black aura.

"So cool! ~"

A bright smile appeared on Dorian's face as he stared at the sinister book with wide eyes. His heartbeat was rapid, and he continuously clenched his fists. He picked up the book, and it disappeared.

"What the fuck?!" Dorian gasped.

He folded his arms and waited for Luna's explanation of what had just happened. Was his reward taken away? If yes, why? However, he heard a notification ping in a moment, and after seeing this, he sighed in relief.

*You have unlocked storage bag*

"Open storage bag, please!"

[Storage bag (01-200)

Book of the damned]

"That's cool, but are you sure you want to turn me into a god, not a Satan?"

Luna was startled by the question, so she remained quiet. She knew about the book's existence, but what were the odds that Dorian would get this sinister spell book in his first draw of the reward. She wanted to advise Dorian to keep the spellbook locked until he learns to use magic properly. Otherwise, the consequences might be dire.

[Dorian, I can't believe I have to say this after I got you excited about your reward, but leave the book be for now.]

"It's too dangerous, right?"

[Yes. The spells there are mighty. Your body won't contain the backlash from even the simplest of the magic from that book.]

"I don't know if I am lucky or unlucky."

[Both? Yes, you can't use the spell book yet.]

Dorian nodded and sighed in disappointment. He wanted knowledge, but he knew his body had its limits. So Dorian decided to leave the forest and go to Sara's place again for more magic lessons. He achieved what he wanted sooner than Dorian expected, so he had no reason to gather more experience for now. Soon Dorian reached her house after a walk through the city center of Elderville. He was tired and just wanted a nap before going on with his life. As he walked down the street, his mind kept repeating the sentence, 'I don't know if I am lucky or unlucky.

The weather seemed too sunny to be real. The sun shone brightly in the sky, there was a single small cloud that was almost transparent, and the temperature was still warm for summertime, and it wasn't even noon yet. When Dorian reached the front door, he rang the bell. As soon as the sound came out of his mouth, someone pulled the door open. Sara looked confused with some book in her hand that Dorian hadn't seen previously. She wore a dark red dress and held a basket filled with vegetables and fruits from a nearby farmers' market.

"Is that a textbook for your magic academy classes?" asked Dorian after a while. "Yes, it is. It's supposed to help me learn how to cast more powerful spells since I have already completed my studies," she responded. "Please come inside, so I can teach you how to do the spell, and then we can continue our lessons!"

Luna stayed within Dorian but wanted to leave his body and eat some fresh fruits. After getting the ability to return to her beautiful elfish form, she wanted to enjoy her life to the fullest. And this meant eating a lot of fruit whenever she felt hungry. Dorian thought it was cute. Even though he couldn't see anything, he could tell that she probably had her tongue hanging out of her mouth. Dorian entered the home and followed Sara's instructions to follow her into the kitchen, where the servants prepared everything. "Dorian, if you have unlocked your magic. Would you mind joining the magic academy?" Suddenly, Sara asked if Dorian would want to join the magic academy. Of course, his response came immediately: "No way!"

Dorian thought that the school would reduce Dorian's freedom. Being in a different place, with other people, and attending a different class than everyone else would limit the freedom Dorian had acquired. He was required to kill monsters or even a fucking humans to gather experience, level up, and get a stronger body and mana. Besides, the school wouldn't be fun at all! However, when faced with such a significant opportunity, Dorian took it willingly.

"Well, are you sure? You wouldn't need to take classes for four years before you get accepted with my recommendation. "Sara explained. As much as Dorian tried to fight against it, Sara's offer was tempting. He could get unlimited access to magical books. Suddenly Luna decided to make her appearance. Her long blonde hair looked like a mess.

"Hey, Sara."

Dorian's heart skipped a beat. He never intended to show Luna to Sara. Not only because she was a goddess but because it wasn't necessary for others to know about her. However, Luna grabbed an apple and took a big bite from it.

"Oh, come on, she already knows you fused with the goddess. That goddess is me."

Sara stared at Luna with wide eyes. She could not believe what she heard. "A goddess? Did she say she is a goddess?"

Dorian nodded. "Yes, as I said before, I was fused with a god, and that god is her. She lives within my body now. "

Sara took a deep breath. She calmed herself before speaking.

"Then... what happens to you when she returns to her true form? Is she alright? Does she hurt anyone else during her transformation?"

The question made him nervous. He didn't know how to answer because he never considered how Luna would react when she transformed back.

"No, there won't be any casualties," Dorian said, but he wasn't sure himself or cared. However, now that he thinks of it, he knows nothing about Luna. However, seeing Luna's carefree attitude made Dorian relax.

Sara seemed relieved when she found out that. "Alright then," she replied. "Now, why don't you go upstairs and rest? Tomorrow is a big day for us." Before leaving, Sara stopped him.

"By the way," Sara pointed at Dorian's chest. "Why are you naked?"
