Chereads / Rebirthed Again / Chapter 5 - Chapter 4

Chapter 5 - Chapter 4

Leo was caught with something red and liquidy. When he looked over at Liam, he was holding his arm and bleeding. His choker was blinking yellow, for he had been putting too much strain on his body and heart.

Oliver started to feel scared.

'I didn't think it would come this quickly,' Liam thought, 'People weren't supposed to gain gifts until the second eclipse.'

Liam smiled at Leo.

"Are you alright?"

"Fine."

"What the heck are you?!" Oliver yelled.

Liam glared at his brother. Oliver trembled. Liam started walking towards him. Oliver backed to the rail. Liam murmured to himself but loud enough for Oliver to hear him.

"I think this timeline is better off without you."

Liam pushed Oliver over the rail. He fell into the pit of UnAlive. Oliver started screaming and yelling for help.

"Agh! H-help! You bastard! I'll haunt you for life! Aghhhhhhhh!"

Liam stared and Oliver as his brother screamed in agony. Soon enough, Oliver had been eaten and clawed to death.

"You-" Wyn was cut off.

"Get moving. I can only hold them off for so long. Start climbing and get out of the building." Liam interrupted.

REBIRTHED AGAIN

Everyone started climbing the stairs again. Liam stabbed the UnAlive with the blood he controlled. When everyone got to the top, they took an elevator down to avoid more UnAlive.

They made it out alive.

"Unbelievable," Wyn said. "I don't understand Mr. Parker, but he's a real badass for an older guy."

"Why must these kids say I'm old?!" Liam thought.

"Alright, let's go get the rest of our family." Liam started. "And then you can show us to your hideout, Neon." Liam said.

"Yea yea. Go get your family." Neon waved her hand. "We'll wait here."

Liam went back to the car where everyone was. He knocked on the window.

"What's going on, Liam?" Paige asked.

"We found someone that we can hide with. They've got a pretty large group of survivors."

"Oh. So we have to go out there, don't we?"

"Yes. You do."

"Alright. Be right there."

They got out of the car and followed Liam to the group. Once they were all there, Neon led them to they're hideout. It was an abandoned house with wood planks covering the windows.

"Here." Neon said. "Bedrooms are upstairs. If you need to piss or shit then you do it outside whether you like it or not. Living area is around the corner. If you need anything else, ask my twin."

"You have a twin?" Issac asked.

"Yea. He's Neo." She pointed to a boy in a hoodie with his hood up.

"He seems like he has an attitude like Leo." Liam said.

"Well, they have similar names." Paige shrugged.

"Don't compare me to a stranger, old hag." Leo said.

"Warch your tongue, brat."

Neo stood next to Neon. They looked very much similar. They were identical twins.

"He's what people would call, 'Second in command' so ask him things when I'm busy."

Liam went to go change out of his bloody clothing and tended to his wound.

'Everything is moving much quicker than I expected.' Liam thought. 'Gifts have started popping like mushrooms. I don't remember Neon having a Gift like that. If I'm not mistaken, she didn't have a Gift, but was excellent in combat. Perhaps she is still very good in combat.'

"Master Liam," Cherry knocked on the door. "May I come in?"

"Of course." Liam answered.

"Thought I might check up on you."

"Thank you, Cherry."

Cherry looked at Liam's hand.

"Master Liam, may I see your hand?"

"Hm, What is it?"

Cherry took Liam's hand and unwrapped the bandage.

"I noticed your bandages did not show any signs of blood."

Liam widened his eyes. His wound was no longer there.

"Does anyone else know?" Liam asked.

"No, sir." Cherry answered "I didn't let anyone in the room after you entered."

'This is so strange." Liam thought. "My blood Manipulation is working just as well as in the last timeline, but what's with this fast recovery?'

"If you don't mind," Liam continued. "Can you help me bandage it back up?"

"Of course, sir."

Cherry bandaged Liam's hand back up. It still had no sign of a wound but Liam had hoped that no one would notice.

"No one else needs to know about this." Liam started. "Don't tell anyone, all right?"

"Of course."

Liam was now lost in thought.

'I didn't have Regeneration last timeline. Gifts are fixed, a person can't just develop a gift they didn't have before. I lived through that hell-hole Armageddon for 6 years. I would know if I had another Gift.'

"Please be more careful with yourself, Master Liam." Cherry said.

'I knew you'd say that.' Liam thought.

"Cherry," Liam started. "Asford Co. Doesn't exist anymore. If worst comes to worse, think highly of your own life.'

*FLASHBACK*

"Please, live. Master Liam."

*END OF FLASHBACK*

"Is that an order, sir?" Cherry asked.

"Wh- Yeah it's an order."

"Then I refuse."

'Why you little--!'

Cherry grabbed Liam's medicine.

"Oh. The medicine. I don't think I'll need it anymore Cherry."

Cherry nodded and left the room. Liam went to the bathroom to clean himself up.

*Tap, Tap, Tap*

Leo was standing in front of a pile of dead UnAlive. Neon was behind the around the corner, listening and watching. When Leo was done, Neon walked back inside.

Leo opened the door to inside. Liam was near the door at that time.

"Leo? Did you just come back from outside? At this hour?!"

Liam saw a small smear of blood on Leo's sleeve. Liam grabbed Leo's wrist and examined it.

"Is that blood?!"

"..."

"Oliver's dead..." Paige said.

"Ameila, didn't you hear me?! Oliver is dead!"

"Killed by Liam. I heard." Ameila answered.

"How can you be so calm?! He was your husb- "

Ameila gave Paige a look to quiet down. Yuki had been napping, laying down on her mother's lap.

"It was your husband who was killed..." Paige continued.

"He tried to push a defenseless child into a horde of zombies...Do you really want me to defend those actions?"

"That's what everyone else said! Oliver wouldn't- "

"Push a child to save himself? That sounds EXACTLY like something Oliver would do."

"Ameila, Do you hear yourself? Your essentially justifying a murder!"

"What do you want me to do? Condemn Liam?"

"I..."

"You know damn well that Liam wouldn't do that for a good reason. Besides, I'm in no position to criticize Liam. Do you know how many times I wanted to end him myself?"

That last sentence hit Paige with such a shock, she looked lifeless for a few seconds.

"Ameila...why...?"

"Is it really that surprising that I have here thoughts? It's awful, I know. But I couldn't help but think that very thought whenever he brought a new woman home. Even if he didn't care about me, he could've at least cared about how it would affect Yuki."

"Ameila, I know your frustrated. But we're talking about murder here."

"YOU FUCKIN' THINK YOU UNDERSTAND MY FRUSTRATION?! I DON'T WANNA HEAR A GODDAMN THING FROM A FUCKIN HYPOCRITE LIKE YOU?!"

"Hypocrite...but I..."

"Paige, you know all too well what you and Oliver did. Are you that surprised that Liam has finally had enough of it?"

There was a pause for a while. Paige had to process what Ameila had said to her.

"You think I didn't know?" Ameila started again. "I know that you two had a relationship back in high school becuase of our arranged marriage. I know you married Liam to slip your way in the the Parker family. I didn't say anything about it because, somehow, I thought we were the same. But even after all those years, you kept seeing Oliver behind my back. I feel seriously insulted."

"T-that..." Paige stuttered.

"Your secrets weren't hard to dig out. If someone as incompetent as me could have figured it out, do you think someone like Liam wouldn't have? It's no wonder he would want to divorce you! Oh, right. He can't! Because he has a whole company reputation to uphold! And what about your sons? Did you forget Leo is your son too?!"

"I..."

"Here, your Oliver this, Oliver that! You didn't show the slightest concern for Leo when he was almost killed! Are you fine with the fact that your son almost died?! You would rather mourn for that damned Oliver instead?!"

"Are you injured? what happened?" Liam asked.

Leo gave Liam a nasty look.

"Let go. It's none of your business."
