Worshipper Arc: Chapter 23. Halivaara second academy.
Valoran agreed to transfer to the second magic academy as an exchange student programme for two weeks.
"When will I leave?" Valoran questions.
"In 2 days." The Headmaster replies.
"Alright then." Valoran responds, making his way out the room.
"Valoran" The headmaster calls out.
Valoran stops in his tracks.
"Don't bring shame to our academy." The headmaster warns.
Valoran remains silent, continuing his way out the door.
Valoran meets up with his friends who are still in the cafeteria enjoying their lunch.
"Hey Valoran, what did the Headmaster want?" Artemsia questions.
Valoran takes a seat.
"I'm being transferred as an exchange student for 2 weeks with the 2nd magic academy." Valoran reveals.
"Really? That's strange, only third years are chosen as a transfer student." Merial speaks from experience since she was a third year at the 2nd magic academy.
"Valoran you look troubled, what's the matter?" Biatrix asks with worry.
"Nothing really, it's just why was I chosen? There are many third year students capable and intelligent enough to go instead." Valoran addresses with interest.
"Valoran, no one is more suited than you. This is the best choice." Demonlise reassures.
"It's not that." Valoran counters.
"You suspect that Worshippers are behind this?" Selina curiously questions.
"Indeed…perhaps they think that with me gone it makes the academy vulnerable, hence Demonlise you will make sure that if an attack should occur you will annihilate it swiftly." Valoran instructs.
"Of course." Demonlise replies.
"Artemsia please refrain from interfering from any conflicts, we can't risk your identity as an agent war goddess gets exposed just yet." Valoran warns,
"I understand." Artemisa agrees with Valoran.
"What about us?" Atticus questions.
"I would be at ease if Demonlise were to handle any threat, however…your priority is to ensure that if an attack occurs while I'm gone then make sure that all the students and teachers are out of danger." Valoran instructs.
"But Valoran, the teachers and students are more than capable of destroying any threat, no one will attack the academy." Biatrix informs.
"I'm not talking about a normal threat, Worshipper activity has been increasing as of late." Valoran warns.
"Don't worry while you're gone we will make sure that the academy is protected." Atticus expresses with confidence.
2 Weeks later
Valoran is standing at the front gates of Halivaara 2nd magic academy.
"Valoran Silver!" A female voice calls out.
Valoran stares at the source from which the voice came from.
A human female is waving at Valoran.
Valoran makes his way over to the female.
"Greetings Valoran Silver, my name is Gina Inaka, I am a Professor at this academy, I will be your tutor for the next 2 weeks." Professor Inaka expresses with kindness and joy.
She leads the way into the academy.
Inside the building the students mumble to each other all the gazes are directed at Valoran.
"That's Valoran Silver"
"The one who annihilated four of our best students with ease"
"He scored the most points in the history of the magic duels."
"Lucky they have him…we would have won if it wasn't for him."
"I'm sorry if you feel uncomfortable, we still haven't forgotten your victory over us." Professor Inaka explains.
"It's fine, no need to worry." Valoran replies.
"Here we are, this is my class hall." Professor Inaka explains.
She and Valoran enter the class hall where the students are immediately shocked to see Valoran.
"What's he doing here?!"
"Him…Valoran Silver is here!"
"Is he the exchange student?!"
"No way!"
The students talk among each other.
Professor Inka claps her hand. "Please be silent." She instructs.
The class goes silent immediately.
"Now then…as most of you know this is Valoran Silver from the Halivaara magic academy, yes it's true that he is a first year student and that this is a third year class but, rest assured he's more than suitable as an exchange student for the 2 week period." Professor Inaka explains.
"Valoran, just like with your academy we also adopt a grouping system where Students form small groups to learn with each other and form strong relationships. You can choose any group that you wish to join should they allow it." Professor Inaka smiles at Valoran, kindly explaining information to him.
"I understand." Valoran replies looking at the students to make his choice which group to join.
Valoran at the very last row sees a group of students who look upset, drained of any motivation.
Valoran walks up the steps toward the last row.
He stands directly in front of the group's table. "May I join you?" Valoran asks politely.
The group consists of: One demon male student, One demi-human female and an elvish female student.
"Haaaaa!" One student calls out.
"You want to join those losers?" Another student calls out.
"They are just a pile of junk unable to use simple magic, they bring shame upon us all." Multiple students call out.
"THAT'S ENOUGH!" Professor Inaka yells in frustration.
The class falls silent and everyone averts their eyes from the Profesor.
"Sara, as the group leader do you accept Valoran to be your temporary member?" Professor Inaka.
The demi-human female student who's the leader says: "Y-Yes." With a quiet and shy voice.
"Then Valoran please take a seat next to them." Professor Inaka kindly asks.
Valoran takes his seat next to the group.
"Alright class today we will learn about overload magic." Professor Inaka informs.
"Does anyone know what overload magic is?" Professor Inaka asks the class.
"Valoran it's okay if you're not familiar with any of the material, this is third year material." Professor Inaka sincerely explains.
"I appreciate the kindness." Valoran responds.
"Oh good i'm glad to-" Professor Inaka is cut off.
"Overload magic is a complex form of magic, it involves temporarily overloading once fragment to boost your own power ten fold, this magic is effective when backed into a corner and there is no way out, however the spell only lasts a couple of minutes even for the most advanced magic users after the spell wears off all your magic is depleted and it will take days for you to cast magic again, the spell is also dangerous overloading your fragment means that the control over your spell is reduced significantly which could lead to your magic hurting the innocents and yourself. The spell also puts your very existence on the line, if an overload goes too far it will destroy your fragment, erasing you from existence. Not even resurrection magic would work." Valoran answers.
"Wow, I'm impressed that what you said is all true."How do you know this kind of information despite you being a first year? Professor Inaka questions with curiosity and amazement.
"I read a lot during my free time and I have a good memory." Valoran replies.
"I understand…moving on" Professor Inaka continues the lecture.
"Excuse me." Sara the group leader Valoran joined calls out in a quiet tone.
Valoran turns his head and faces her.
"Why did you decide to join our group?" She questions.
"Yeah, the others are right, we are trash." The demon male student explains with shame.
The elvish female student remains silent with her head lowered in disgrace.
"Well…I thought that you were the kindest in the class and no…you are not "trash" you just need to believe in yourselves." Valoran explains with a tiny smile.
The others look shocked to hear that someone like Valoran with all his power believes in them.
2 hours later.
"Now class…we will conduct practical training. Please head with your group to the training ground." Professor Inaka orders.
Valoran follows the group he joined to the training grounds.
While making the way to the training ground Valoran is the centre of attention and not in a good way, students are all gazing at Valoran with resentment toward him, some also face away from Valoran due to fear he displayed during the magic duels.
They eventually arrive at the training ground, similar to the first magic academy; it's a ginormous open field with enough open space to conduct multiple matches simultaneously.
"W-We are here." Sara points out with a quiet tone.
"Please let me introduce you to the others." Sara gestures her hand to the others.
"This is Elly, she's shy like we all are but she's not a failure I promise you." Sara speaks with confidence.
Elly bows her head "I-It's nice to meet you sir Valoran." Elly speaks with a soft shy voice.
"It's nice to meet you Elly but Valoran is just fine." Valoran extends his hand for a handshake.
Elly hesitates at first but carefully shakes his hand.
Sara then gestures toward the male demon male student who looks upset just like Elly.
"His name is Yuka, he's a kind soul and truly wishes to become strong." Sara introduces.
"It's nice to meet you, Yuka." Valoran extends his hand for a handshake to Yuka.
He accepts the hand shake.
"It's nice to meet you, Valoran." Yuka is amazed to meet Valoran.
At that moment new voices can be heard.
"Well well well, look who we have here. The garbage bunch." A human female student followed closely 6 other male students.
"Look at that, little ants trying to train to become strong, in truth you are nothing but weaklings. Get out of my sight we will be training here." The female student demands.
"Yeah, you're nothing but an eye sore for the beautiful Jillian Potaria." The male students who back her up insult Sara and her group.
Sara and the others hang their heads in shame.
"Let's go everyone, we will just find a different area." Sara with sadness instructs.
"No you will not train on these grounds ever." Jillian instructs.
Sara, Elly and Yuka clench their fists in frustration.
"We understand." Sara says with a spiteful voice.
"Let's get going." Sara instructs. She, Elly and Yuka all make their way off the training grounds.
"Hey why aren't you moving?" Jillian asks Valoran who is standing still like a statue.
"We are not going anywhere." Valoran firmly states with his crimson eyes glowing.
