The ease at which he obtained sexy-jutsu was fonominal, Matsuo clapped his hand "Good job, well that was all. Bye, I guess." And slowly left, he turned off his nature capture machine-thing prop.
In the meanwhile the third hokage stopped him from leaving "How about we have a little talk." Matsuo looked at him "Sure, but I can only promise you a shadow clone to talk with. Because I'm already out of the village!" Matsuo laughed hartily.
Jiraiya wasn't that shocked by it, while Hiruzen's eyes were popping out, metaphorically. Matsuo looked back at them "You have any idea how much time I spent perfecting this trick? More than one and a half years, of course its going to be overpowered."
Matsuo undid his transformation and threw a kunai at the business man, all evidence of his existence must be eradicated. Due to the nonchelant posture and way of talking Matsuo had, they didn't expect him to throw a kunai at the merchant. They both thought he was just a shadow clone, fun fact, its possible to make a fake shadow clone.
Hiruzen was livid but Matsuo didn't care and he told him some basic stuff "I don't feel like talking to you sooo, I don't have intense hatred for konoha, I was literally only here to test my sharingan. Bye." And the clone poofed into a cloud of smoke.
On the tallest building in konoha, Aether stood there. There was contempt spelled on his face "Fuckin' loser." But hidden in his heart was a lot of salt, he didn't even realize that Hiruzen was close by.
He had been focusing mostly on how to run away, there was an entire decade for him to wait for so he thought increasing his strength wasn't really necessary. But he was so salty right now, he didn't even have anything beyond the most basic of fire jutsu under his belt.
At least he's rich, most of his battle strength came from his use of bomb tags anyways. He remembered something from the anime or manga, or whatever, that a bomb tag had about the strength of one jonin attack. So he had never had too much of a problem with other ninja, but now he felt a need to beat others up.
First he did what he always did when he escaped a village, distract them with a clone. This time Matsuo took a bit more time to make the clone, making the clone have less of the regular flaws a shadow clone has. If he didn't trick Jiraiya with all that stuff with the nature energy he would probably see through it, or he wouldn't. Matsuo didn't really know, it was just best to be safe.
Matsuo did the normal routine, make an Aether form shadow clone, make the clone say a single sentance, then make it dissapear. This time it was as usual, a ninja asked "Why are you here Aether!" But this time the clone said "I just wanted to see the beautiful sights of konoha, why are you so mad?" Then the clone disspeared.
In the meanwhile, Matsuo had taken the place of a merchant and was escaping from the evil Aether. when he was out of the villages walls by about a kilometer, Matsuo threw away his transformation and replaced it with another. an experienced wandering shinobi, who was also scared shitless by Aether's appearance in konoha.
When he got far enough away he sat down and started to ponder his future path, first the dangers of this world. Especially the infinite tsukuyomi, you need a rinnegan to not get captured by it. And... Matsuo doesn't have one of those, if it wasn't obvious.
at least he had the bloodline necassary to get it, but if he were to fight even with the rinnegan. He wouldn't have the chakra to use any one of its tricks exept the gedo mazo, or the demonic statue of the outer path or something like that.
'Outer path... Sounds like good material for a title. Ruler of the outer path, sounds cool I guess, but I can make something better with time.' Matsuo thought, completely forgeting that he didn't have time for it.
'Maybe steal Nagato's rinnegan? But then Madara will never use infinite tsukuyomi, And in all truth I want to beat up Kaguya.' Matsuo thought irresponsibly 'Naaa, that would be stupid. if I'm strong enough to beat up six paths tree hugger madara as if he was a toddler, I'll let Kaguya out to play.' Matsuo listened to his more reasonable side a bit, he put an absurd goal so that he wouldn't ever reach it.
In the hokage building, Hiruzen, who had seen through the shadow clone easily, was getting overwhelmed with paperwork "I wonder if there's a way to make it easier." He murmered to himself, the appearance of Aether of the akatsuki had brought him a lot of problems 'Why couldn't that guy just stay in his little cave?' He was far too busy to deal with that runaway Uchiha, he didn't even care to learn their name.
Jiraiya was sneaking into a woman's restroom, totally forgetting the Uchiha kid from an hour ago. You might think he would easily see through the kid's shadow clone, but Jiraiya is only an elite jonin if you're generous with your titles and only when using sage mode. So like a jonin if he doesn't have his summons, and a mix of arrogance made him easy to fool.
Both thought of Matsuo as an insignificant, and a weakling. And they weren't really wrong, he was like a genin if he used every trick he had. Speaking of him, he had a stupid idea 'What if I replace Obito with Orochimaru as the sacrifice six-paths guy? Naaa, not yet at least.'
What did Matsuo choose to do? Practice his strength and not his deception plus runaway tactic, though he was very proud of the latter.
What you do is let the enemy check for clone shit for a bit, then replace yourself with a shadow clone with that true replacement thing, it didn't have a good name. But let me ask you something, if you've already looked for the signs, would you keep looking constantly? No, you wouldn't, that's what lets him escape far stronger opponents. Though if there's a sensor ninja, he's screwed.
He wondered how he could trick others, could he get a 101 book? He wondered if he could get a forbidden technique too, well, he didn't have any. How would he? Either steal them or make a challenge, and both aren't viable!

He had to kill a jonin or fight with a kage and escape with a scroll, yea that ain't happening. Although he can run away quickly, a lazy unmotivated kage probably won't let him go. Even if Matsuo did his best, his death was inevitable. And Orochimaru? Yea, no curse seals, just no, get some help.
Recently his thoughts have been more focused on high levels, and he's realized; he's a weakling. How was there even such a big difference? Right now Matsuo wanted to runaway to a small island in the sea, use some random challenge to get a one time infinite tsukuyomi resistance coupon, and live the rest of his life there.
Maybe becoming a hidden master in the boruto arcs, that sounded comfortable 'But... How do I do that? How do I know how far I need to go to find an island? Do I use another coupon? And how do I make myself known as a master so that that Boruto guy will come find me?' All questions lead to the system's help. There were all sorts of problems, all of them annoying.
But then, Matsuo, the genius of this era, thought 'Can I do immortal cultivation and that murim martial arts stuff?' he tried it out "Martial path 101... the larger..." he muttered to himself while he was entering something into the system.

Fun fact, which Matsuo doesn't know yet, what you think of in your mind is the reward you ask for, not the actual technique. Like, lets say; Someone thinks that edo tensei is a jutsu that makes the corpse, coffin, and all that other stuff with only chakra, then that's what you are challenged for. Instead of the original, which needs preperation for every single corpse's false resurection and the fact that an edo tensei ninja goes into a sort of hibernation if they go into the coffin.
If you take this into account, nothing is impossible. Though it will make the challenge harder, but all that murim martial stuff is in Matsuo's mind just better taijutsu with a few more tricks in training the body, in the beginning.
Though all the conditions did make Matsuo kind of miss the old days where he would easily exploit the system's challenges, but the system adapted. An AI that can adapt, so terrifying and evil it is!
Matsuo scratched the back of his head, then he started to wonder how to become a mysterious master on a mysterious island 'After the time that Konan and Nagato get talk-no-jutsu-ed, why don't I leave a note in the signature Aether style?... It can work, but just leaving a note saying; 'I'm hiding on an island in the ocean, come find me Boruto.' Is dumb, maybe a riddle or something?'
All these quick and unrefined plans created, even still Matsuo knew 'I need to actually get stronger first, instead of learning how to escape a lazy jonin or a normal special jonin without a bunch of tricks.'
