After a week

Bom Jesus Basilica, Banguinim, Goa.

"And this is how we're still paying the price for having issues with Oberois.", said Zaid with a sigh.

Father Joseph ran his hands over Zaid's wavy hair and began, "I can understand your situation son but these are the part and parcel of life that you've to bear. I cannot predict how long it'd continue but remember, every darkness has an end 'cause light is eternal, God is eternal."

Zaid smiled at his words and caught his hands with tenderness and asked him to sit beside him.

"But you know, father, even a trifle that is related to this topic erupts the hell in me. Last week only, when we were on our way to Grand Hyatt from airport, some people recognised us as KSE directors and blocked our way only to pelt stones at our car. Somehow, by God's grace, I managed to escape that havoc tactfully but the reason behind that resentment horrified me to the core. It was because of our unpopularity due to Oberois among the section of working class in Goa. People have now started doubting on our caliber and principles and the loss of their faith in us with our goodwill being affected has taken away the peace of my mind.", summarised Zaid.

Father again smiled looking at his upset face.

Zaid stole a glance off father and said, "Why are you smiling at my problems father? I need your advice right now, please, tell me something worth hearing so that I can also smile like you."

Father started laughing seeing which Zaid's lips flowered a small smile that widened for a moment and Zaid also started laughing.

"See you're smiling, nope, you're laughing."

"Yeah I'm.", Zaid managed to say anyhow amidst his laughter.

It was an auspicious evening when almost all the guests invited by Father Joseph were found inside the premises of Bom Jesus Basilica. The event witnessed many popular faces of the corporate of Goa. The disciples of the convent and children from the orphanage were gathered and they were interacting with the industrial leaders and learning life lessons from them.

There was a huge camp inside which children had organised an exhibition of art and crafts. The businessmen and the guests went inside the camp to have a look at their creativity.

At Baga Beach

There was no sign of Bhushan in Banguinim as his *afternoon delights and *night stands were fixed at Baga beach. On that date, everything that the beach had witnessed was Bhushan's enjoyment.

A delicate figure was lying on top of Bhushan at the seashore and with her finger she was making irregular patterns on his face when he shoved his head to bite her finger.

"Ouch!"

"Shut up or I'll eat you whole!"

"Eat me whole.", said Venus and rolled away from Bhushan that made him exhale wildly and he got up to chase her. She was running deep into the expansion of the sea while Bhushan was wobbling on to the sea after her. He aced his steps and caught her from behind that led both of them to fall but before Venus could get submerged under the sea surface she saw a familiar face staring at her.

Her mind learned an important signal from the person and she was all about faking expressions to Bhushan which went bouncing over his knowledge and care.

At the Charity event.

Zaid's Narration

A white coloured dupatta was playing with the wind for I never know what intimate has winds to do with her dupatta. Why adding life to a lifeless object and attracting my eyes that searched for life?

Nuska, escaped from my mouth and jingled her wristlet inside from my pocket.

Naughty huh, I said to it.

She was like a white rose among those who appeared to be wild bushes and thorns.

My mind wondered on how would a rose survive among the thorns.

Haven't you seen hundred of thorns around a single rose, said my heart.

And this incompatibility of my heart and mind was acting as a barrier for me to approach her, to give her what belonged to her, her wristlet.

I just don't want to return it to her. I want to make her as happy as I can on the excuse of giving it back, I thought repeatedly.

Author's Narration

By thinking and thinking an amazing idea struck Zaid's mind and he immediately went into the exhibition camp to execute his plan.

Businessmen never fall short of ideas. Get it written.

Nuska was *'tirelessly talking to the tiny tots'. Given to the delights of Zaid they were all his fans due to the football kick incident a week ago. Zaid went inside the camp and began to draw a blueprint of ideas in his mind when he saw a girl displaying her artistry on metal wear making. He immediately went to her and whispered something into her ears then the girl came out and had a glance of Nuska. She turned to Zaid and winked at him. Zaid winked back at her in gratitude.

It had been ten minutes from then, when Nuska was being pulled by the children into the camp where they, on the very first, made her stand before the same girl's stall.

Nuska smiled at the girl who was smiling for a different reason. Then she asked her to buy any of her crafts and she'd give her something for free.

Nuska was impressed by her offer and looked at her right hand which was empty after she lost her wristlet a week ago in the same church.

Zaid and his offers.

"Show me something I could wear on my hand.", said Nuska thoughtlessly.

"How is this sister?", showed the girl a bracelet made of pearl and small conch shells.

It was so beautiful that it nailed on her mind on the very first sight.

"This is just... so... more than beautiful sweetie!", she exclaimed and immediately took it from the girl's hand.

"You really like this one?"

"I love it! I love it so much!", said Nuska happily and immediately wore it around her wrist when she was asked by the girl, "Don't you want to know what will you get for free along with this?"

"Umm.. no idea. What's it?"

"It's more beautiful than what you've with you.", smiled the girl before taking out the same object handed by Zaid to her some time ago.

Zaid, from a far corner, already had his camcorder on, on the excuse of saving the moments of the charity event.

His gadget recorded Nuska's popped out eyes and dropped jaw when she saw a wristlet with a shining N, her own wristlet, her father's sweet present in front of her eyes. Zaid almost started laughing at her reaction and the children around her started clapping in joy, many didn't know why they were clapping. They were just obeying the instruction of their new boss, Zaid.

Nuska, with tearful eyes, immediately held the girl's hand and started asking her in between her hiccups, "How, when and from where you got this wristlet? Is it your handmade or you got it from somewhere in a unnoticed condition?"

The girl started smiling and then looked at Zaid. Her action was followed by the children around and in end the Nuska turned towards where Zaid was standing. Seeing two beautiful bulging eyes with traces of moist in them on the camcorder screen Zaid put his gadget down and wondered, I never instructed them this.

Outside within the premises, Varishth and Aadam got their hearts burnt on the entry of Oberois for Randheer Oberoi was accompanied by his wife, Sunaina, and his ambassador son Kartik in the event.

Both the parties were emitting repulsive vibes for each other and when Zaid came out from the camp. He witnessed the situation and decided how to extract maximum benefit out of the given opportunity.

He straight went to Randheer and extended his hands to greet him. Randheer was surprised at first but shaked his hand with Zaid while Sunaina was shooting arrows on Zaid with her eyes and her son Kartik left the spot in order to maintain his biggety distance.

"So, it seems you've learned the lesson of humbling yourself after tasting lashes from the public.", puked Randheer faking a smile.

"Yes, we've learned a lesson after which no snake can spread its poison into our territory.", said Zaid with a charming smile that made Randheer's fake one to fade away.

"Oh confidence I see!", Randheer exclaimed.

"Make a habit of seeing this.", retorted Zaid that made Randheer wear a disdainful expression on his face.

"See poor child, if you think you've studied abroad and would take away the ice cake with its cherry in the market then forget it for the cleverest ones survive here dude. Business too has its own politics that are not taught in books.", Randheer was about to feel satisfied with his statement but Zaid corrected him.

"You're wrong here. The strongest ones survive. Remedies are never taught in books. It has to be found out by experiencing the suffering. And it is the suffering of the one that delivers that message for all. I'm proud that I'd be sharing my experience with everyone through this." said Zaid taking our a tape recorder from his blazer's pocket.

"No need to act smart, huh, I've innumerable copies of this with me.", added Zaid.

There was a silence of 45 minutes between the duo and as for the event, a healthy jostling was on its peak.

After that everyone observed Randheer with a mask of joyfulness on his face heading towards the charity box. And it was a cheque of 70 Lacs that was signed under his name which he handed to the Father as donation for welfare of orphan children.

Randheer's wife and son couldn't guess what led him to reach that spot. And they were exchanging glances only to shrug in the end.

Zaid had an elegant satisfaction on his face after he recalled his statement to Randheer, Not only will you clear the rumours about our reputation in front of the media but also pay back the double of the compensation you fooled from us citing false allegations. That amount you better donate here for the welfare cause of these children at least! It'd help you get a chance to correct your image after accepting your misdeeds before the corporate channels.

Varishth said into the ears of Aadam, "How come this robber become so generous, am I watching a dream or what?"

"I'm also wondering the same friend.", said Aadam astonishingly.

Seeing Randheer's generosity that was actually conditional in nature, scores of children ran to him and hugged him out of genuine love. They started kissing all over his face and he tried removing them but given the eyes of the admiring public he pretended well to embrace them.

It was only after seeing Nuska clapping at the emotional scene and the noticing the jingling of stars of her wristlet on her hand Zaid called it a day.

At the Baga beach

Venus was held by her hair and a man was hissing at her and given the clumsiness of Bhushan who was drunk and half slept on the shore the man didn't feel any threat from his side.

"Leave me alone Jacob I've no *ucking *hit to do with you now."

Hearing this he slapped her and continued to do so until her white cheeks turned red and swollen.

"Leave me for now you're hurting me more than enough!", she screamed but at the same time didn't want to attract anyone's eyes on both of them.

"You've left me for that *sshole's money? Wasn't I hurt then?", said Jacob with hell flair in his eyes.

"It's over. All is that its just over. Please leave me."

"Leave you? Nope baby! You've to leave him. Or... Or... I know how to make him leave you.", saying this he started pacing towards Bhushan who was laughing in his slumber and was drooling over the sand.

"No! No! Jacob you're not doing this. Please stop it. I'll listen to you but please don't harm him.", she requested sobbing to which he gave her a violent jerk that made her fall.

He ambled even faster when his phone rang and stopped only to answer that call which read on his mobile screen- Oberoi Sir junior.
