Before the duke could open the door, Cxenon stopped him.
"You shouldn't interfere or the process will take longer." Cxenon said in clenched jaws.
"What examination are they doing? She is screaming!" The duke wanted to knock sense to Cxenon but the marquis blocked the door too.
"This is the examination, Adelard. Let us not go in or she will suffer longer. This is the temple's way of examination." The marquis said.
Without even understanding a tinge of it, the duke was forced to let go of the door knob, seething from too much anger that filled his chest in that very moment. he turned away from the study's direction, walked to the window and leaned both of his hands on the pane.
He closed his eyes firmly, hearing Cataleya's unceasing screaming from the inside. Then his body started to feel warm that he ended up hugging himself when the werewolf inside of him wanted to come out and tear everyone making her suffer like that.
