Chapter 58 – Making Up Lies
"I'm a bit surprised that you can trust me like that, Talisa."
Talisa was silent for a moment, making sure that her expression didn't change at all. If she couldn't get Michael to believe in her, not only would all their plans fail, but her life would be in danger as well. Michael could take it straight to Traum and hand it over to George. Talisa trembled slightly.
"I told you. I don't know anyone else," Talisa said.
"Okay. That makes sense," Michael replied.
That sentence made Talisa breathe a sigh of relief silently. However, she was still wary because Michael seemed to be still watching her. Michael then walked closer to Talisa, step by step. Talisa wanted to step back, but she restrained herself because it would be very strange if Talisa stepped back.
"You know I could just take you to Traum right now and hand you over to George, right?" Michael asked.
"But you won't, Michael. I know that," said Talisa.
