Eloise's POV:
I looked at Atticus. I was not surprised that he would say this, but I was also apprehensive.
He was right. I had no other choice. I had to find someone who could ally with me. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to hold on.
The fact that I could obtain assets in this family meant that I'd already taken away what belonged to others. They didn't like me and ostracized me. This was very normal.
Especially when I used all the resources I had to support Soren, my intentions became even more apparent.
When I lay here, it was almost as if I'd lost. I'd already reached the point where I was at their disposal.
But now, at least, I had to take the initiative into my own hands.
I did have some assets, and they must belong to me only. And I didn't want to take on any responsibility from his family.
