Not wanting to listen to advice was going to be the death of me. But hey, don't judge me. I just had a strong aversion to following orders. If Sei had asked politely, I would have willingly complied instead of being ordered around.
So, I did as he told me and put on the pants, but I didn't bother with the black clothing or a jacket for blending into the darkness. Instead, I wore white, making myself stand out like a sore thumb. Therapy was definitely in order for me.
We embarked on our journey with me having no knowledge of our destination. Sei remained silent, and I didn't bother asking since I knew he wouldn't answer. I decided to save my breath and energy instead.
After a tense, long, one hour and twenty-minute drive, Sei stopped the car in front of a bustling hotel. He booked a room and instructed me to follow. Without complaint, I complied, acting humble and quiet, doing everything he told me to do.
He unlocked the door to the room, locked it behind him, and threw the keys onto the sofa before going to lie on the bed. I stood there, observing.
Suddenly, he turned to face me, as if just remembering my presence.
"Oh, I think you should get some rest. You'll need it," he suggested.
My eyes twitched, and I lost my composure.
"Are you nuts? If you knew we shouldn't be going wherever we're going yet, why didn't you let us stay home and leave at the right time? Instead, you book an expensive room with my credit card!" I exclaimed, my frustration pouring out.
He blinked repeatedly and simply replied, "You should be thankful I was considerate enough to not book two rooms. Go and get some rest. You'll need it. In the next hour and a half, we're leaving."
I stood there for about three minutes, and I knew he had fallen asleep. I felt an overwhelming urge to strangle him in his sleep.
"Oh God, please forgive me if I end up committing murder," I muttered under my breath.
He occupied the entire bed, leaving no room for me. Did he really expect me to sleep on the sofa?
The hour and a half passed, but I couldn't sleep a wink. I was too agitated.
After Sei woke up, he barely glanced at me as he continued to give orders. As we checked out of the room, a young girl, around twenty-one years old, shamelessly stared at Sei with a lustful gaze. My anger flared, not out of jealousy, but because I was standing right next to him, and she still had the audacity to flirt with him. The brazen girl daringly traced a finger up Sei's arm, causing him to freeze. Suddenly, the temperature dropped, and a murderous aura emanated from him. Fear coursed through me, and I shivered at the intensity of his presence. Wisely, the girl quickly apologized, and it brought me a strange sense of satisfaction to realize that I was the only one he detested.
The walk to our unknown destination felt short, and we arrived at a breathtakingly stunning mansion.
"Stop staring," Sei said, interrupting my admiration.
I rolled my eyes. The ever-so-serious master of mine wouldn't even give me time to appreciate my surroundings. He was so...
Clink!
The sound of a window sliding open caught my attention, and I saw Sei climbing through it.
"What are you doing, Sei? Why are we breaking into someone's house? Did you bring me along for some criminal activity? What are you planning to steal, and why the hell did you involve me? Are you going to tie a man to his bed and kill him?" I nervously questioned.
"This mansion seems to have an endless array of security cameras." I noted
"Would you just shut up? Just for one minute, be quiet. If you don't want to come in, you're allowed to go back," he replied, entering without waiting for me.
Panic surged within me as I turned to look at the path we had taken. It was dark and eerie. If I tried to find my way back, I would surely get lost.
