Chapter 3 - The Dream (new beginning)

(Quick Recap: Axel, a brilliant physicist turned disillusioned civil servant, grapples with existential questions and dreams blurring reality. Haunted by a past betrayal, he yearns for connection and meaning, while strange dreams hint at extraordinary events to come)

Axel had always been a dreamer, a solitary soul who found solace in the quiet contemplation of the universe. As a child, he would often lose himself in fantastical worlds, conjured from the depths of his imagination. His nights were filled with vivid dreams, each more extraordinary than the last.

One night, as he drifted off to sleep, a strange sensation washed over him. It was as if his consciousness was being pulled into a vortex, a swirling maelstrom of light and sound. He felt himself slipping away from his physical body, leaving behind the confines of his room.He found himself in a vast, ethereal realm, a place of infinite possibilities. The air was filled with a subtle hum, a cosmic symphony that resonated with his very being.

As he explored this otherworldly landscape, he encountered strange, luminous formations, each pulsing with its own unique energy. The formation, a swirling mass of blue light, caught his attention. As he approached it, the light intensified, and a series of words materialized before his eyes:

School of Cognition

School of Radiance

School of Brightness

School of Blue and Red

School of Daggers

Each word pulsed with a different energy, inviting him to explore. As he delved deeper into the dream, he had a strong feeling that the choice that he made would have a lasting impact on things to come and would have the potential to change his life forever.

As Axel's consciousness drifted towards each option, he felt a distinct sensation. The "School of Blue and Red" evoked a strange interplay of warmth and cold, while the "School of Radiance" and "School of Brightness" offered a blinding, almost paradoxical experience.

The first two options, however, held a more intimate allure.Drawn to the "School of Cognition," Axel felt a surge of intellectual energy, followed by a sudden blankness. As he delved deeper, the other options faded, replaced by a lush, green field. A jolt of clarity washed over him, snapping him out of the dreamlike state. Panic set in as he questioned his surroundings and reality itself. Was he dreaming? Dead? Or trapped in some bizarre experiment?
