Chapter 16 - Interrogated by Travis

When he got to the room, Travis immediately took off his shirt, then put it in any direction. He turned to glance at Phoebe who had just entered the room, standing by the door with her head lowered. The man smiled faintly and approached the woman casually.

"Why do you look so scared?" he asked.

"Eh ..." Phoebe slowly raised her head, looking at Travis who was so handsome with a thin beard and a stout chest. It made him immediately think of John, remember how beautiful and burly body she had never seen again. "It's okay. I just don't know what to do?"

"You should be relaxed like Alicia," Travis exclaimed, then held out his hand to Phoebe. "By the way, we haven't gotten to know yet. There's no way I can call you a maid….it seems weird and I don't like it either. So, tell your full name," he continued.

Trembling a little, Phoebe shake hands with Travis and said, "I'm Phoebe ... Phoebe Rae."

"Beautiful name," Travis said with a smile.

"Thank you."

"Perhaps Alicia has already told you my name," Travis said and then turned back toward the bed. He sat down casually, then glanced at Phoebe who was still standing on the spot. "I'm Travis Lincolnshire, don't call me 'Sir.' Just call me by my name or title."

"By the name?" Phoebe frowned.

"Yes."

"But that's rude, sir," said Phoebe in surprise.

"And it's also useless if someone calls with a title or honor but behaves in an impolite manner... So, it's better to call me by name but you are still polite...Besides, it's only me here," Travis said casually, glancing at the still very innocent Phoebe. "Have you ever been a maid before?" he asked.

"Not really," said Phoebe.

Travis immediately frowned. "But Alicia said that you were guaranteed to work professionally but it turns out you've never been a Maid at all. No wonder you look so nervous and lack agility... You don't seem to know what to do right now."

Phoebe lowered her head, feeling insecure because of this honesty. "Sorry, Doc... I've never been a maid but I can do all the housework because I'm used to doing it alone, even I can cook."

Travis let out a shaky breath. ."What was your job before?"

"Ehh ... I was a boutique keeper before, But it was a long time before I got married," explained Phoebe, trying to show her superiority over being fired when she had just started working and was even cleaning the living room.

"You're married?"

"Yes, Doc."

Travis was silent, staring at Phoebe who was so beautiful and graceful in her simplicity made him think about who the lucky guy to get her was but let her work as a maid.

"Where is your husband?" he asked.

"Uh, he's at home," Phoebe replied nervously.

"Doesn't he work so you have to be a maid?" asked Travis with a probing look.

"Ehh..." Phoebe was confused, not knowing what to do. she thought if she told the truth about running away from her husband, of course, her new boss would have a problem with her and might fire her.

"Or maybe he's sick so you have to work?" Travis asked again.

"Eh, no..he's not sick but we agreed to work individually because we have a target to buy a new house," Phoebe replied lying.

Travis nodded his head. "That makes sense, but if I were your husband, I wouldn't let you work...It's your husband's responsibility to buy the house, you don't have to work hard to help him because it's his duty."

Phoebe smiled faintly then said, "it's okay because this is also my wish...Besides I don't have any work at home so it's better to find a job before we have kids."

Travis sighed. "I don't know your mindset but maybe it's based on your economic condition..let's forget about this conversation, now you prepare warm water for me then after that you can continue to do your job," he said.

"Okay, Doc," said Phoebe, then walked to the bathroom by crossing a metallic walk-in closet room equipped with luxurious wardrobes that certainly contained Travis' belongings.

In a hotel room in New York City, John had just woken up. the man was still lying on the king-size bed which had a white floor, silently staring at the monochrome ceiling of the room.

"Two days without you, it feels so empty...I miss your smile, I miss your gentle and caring attitude, I miss having a delicious breakfast with you, I miss your fresh scent every morning because you are diligent in the morning shower always kissing me before I leave for work," John muttered anxiously thinking about where Phoebe was.

"You should never have left me because you were pregnant with my child. You shouldn't have to worry about my relationship with Rachel, because you are the only one who deserves to be my wife...I won't let anyone take you from me, I will keep you in my arms."

Drett... Drett...

His cell phone which was next to him rang, John immediately picked it up and saw an incoming call from Rachel. He answered the call.

"Hello," said John.

"Hello, honey. I thought you were still sleeping," Rachel said sweetly.

"I just woke up. Soon I will get ready to find my wife ... I can't sleep well because I keep thinking about her," said John angrily.

"Hmm, you love her so much," Rachel said, sounding disapproving.

"Rachel, please understand me. After all, she is my wife and now she is pregnant. I can't help but care for her, I'm worried about her," said John angrily.

."I've tried to understand you, you don't need to worry. Since I'm just a mistress here then I have no right to be too jealous. I'm just saying that today I can't see you because I already have an appointment to spend time with my boyfriend...So don't call me until I call you first," Rachel said.

John was silent, also jealous at the thought of Rachel making out with her boyfriend.

"What are you going to do with him?" he asked.

"I don't know, but I'm sure I'll be with him for a long time," Rachel replied casually, perhaps realizing that John was jealous.

John let out a shaky breath, remembering now that he and Phoebe were falling apart because of this affair but Rachel was still able to make out with her boyfriend. .the man felt unfair, feeling that Rachel shouldn't be spending time with her boyfriend because he couldn't be with Phoebe either.

"Don't make love to him!" he said curtly.

"I don't promise," Rachel answered and then the line just ended.

John, who was irritated by the jealousy that had taken over his heart, coupled with being annoyed at being abandoned by Phoebe, threw his cell phone in any direction. He removed the blanket from his body in annoyance, doing everything in annoyance. .the man imagined the women he loved having fun with their own lives while he was annoyed and confused. Hmm, that was the result of his own doing.
