Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Judgment Day (part 2)

Currently, everyone is drawn to some giant entities that have just come out of the hole. These were flying boats in the eighteenth century. There were hundreds of them. Each of them was like a giant snake and as big as several stadiums. They are moved by six wings, larger than the wings of a civilian airliner, like bat wings. Each mast on those ships was as big as a tall building in the last century. At the bow of the ship was a terrible creature. It had two types of arms growing from its head and two claws growing from its body. On top of her head was a giant orange eye. The whole body was covered by blue light.

All at once, masses of rockets, electromagnetic cannons, energy guns, everything that fighters armed opened fire on monstrous things. On the ground, a series of anti-aircraft missiles and anti-aircraft artillery also emerged and fired at will, despite the panic of the people. There were so many explosives that they could cook the whole sky.

Duc Huy himself did not know what was happening and if it was an invasion.

"The army reacted so quickly! As if they are used to it." - The boy thought.

Meanwhile, some of the strange entities were hit by bullets and exploded. Some fell and hit a nearby building. However, their numbers were still too many to destroy them all. Around these, dozens of blue fireballs the size of a tank came out from nowhere. They quickly destroyed a large number of fighters and anti-aircraft rail canons as if these advanced weapons were made of paper.

Then, the monstrous airships opened their "mouths", like the way a snake opens its mouth to swallow its prey. From the mouth of the giant unnamed entity, hundreds of giant jellyfish which were the size of a yacht flew out. They rushed towards the city with rocket-like speed. The number was so large that it was difficult for anti-aircraft weapons to destroy them all. The spores that touch the ground quickly create a cloud of smoke.

At the places of collision, the main force, the local army, and the mobile police moved by flying cars. They quickly fired bullets at the creatures emerging from the impact craters. Those two to three meters tall were ash-gray skin. Their head resembled a large cannonball and had no eyes but only a terrifying sharp tooth. The top of the cranium was curved posteriorly. They had a tail that looked like that of a scorpion and sharp iron claws. All of them walk on feet or legs like humans but move dozens of times faster.

- Fire! - The commanding officer shouted.

Immediately, the armed forces poured everything they had on the creature. Even so, the human forces were quickly overwhelmed by the sheer number of enemies. What these monsters left behind were just unrecognizable broken human body parts. Bulletproof armor to them was like a thin sheet of paper. Many soldiers were thrown, crushed, and torn to pieces.

Faced with this situation, those who were curious before, quickly ran as if they had never run before. It was a horrible panic because everyone was worried about their own life at first. Of course, ordinary humans couldn't run back compared to the monsters that passed by last century's formula one racing car. The scattered lines of people became an outdoor party for the monsters.

- Help me!

- Parents!

- Do not kill me!

Such sounds kept resounding. What seemed to only exist in horror movies has appeared in real life. The smell of blood permeated the air, hitting the noses of those around them.

Some people are quick-witted to use flying cars to escape. It was indeed the real thing, but due to the disordered movement, they often collided with each other. Some rushed into high-rise buildings and exploded. The explosion accidentally killed more and more innocent people. Not to mention the massive airships that relentlessly unleashed monstrous attacks, knocking down countless skyscrapers over eight hundred meters.

- Must quickly protect the people! – Soldiers and policemen who had not been killed spoke up. They tried to keep their distance from the monsters and used their ranged weapons to open fire even though many of them were seriously injured due to the monsters.

The officers had a plan. Although monsters were strong, they were moving in the urban environment. According to the commanding officers, they thought that the force just now had no defensive fortifications, so it was defeated. However, life is not like a dream.

- What the hell is this!? – One person looked at the scene in front of him and shouted. – Are they armed with guns!?

Indeed, the monsters were not only capable of biting and tearing but were also armed with weapons. Those were guns that were both like bones and like rusted iron pipes. Their bullets fired were stronger than armor-piercing bullets. As a result, a lot of flying cars were shot down. The remaining armed forces were overwhelmed by firepower. Their bulletproof armor was pierced. The body inside was torn to pieces as if hit by an anti-tank gun.

Luckily, running on time, Huy did not die. However, the boy's heart almost wanted to fall out because of what he witnessed.

Everything was terrible. The city in which Huy's living was like a doomsday scene.

In that situation, a sound resounded. It's like a man talking to the ants in his yard. All are transmitted directly into each person's brain. Like it or not, they had to listen.

" Dear denizens of mankind, I am Noelopan Etrtapanob, Emperor of the Night, head of the Empire of Shadows. The leader, the leader, the government, etc. or, w,h ever you call them, has hidden the truth about us and they rely on countless secret organizations to ensure it. You are not the only intelligent being in this universe. There are entities beyond your human understanding known to secret organizations as Anomalies. Do not get me wrong. We are much more advanced than the others. We call ourselves the Demon Gods of Darkness, who rule over all anomalous entities to take over the Earth from humans.

Besides, the Soul Stone, which contains the power of warriors, those who get it will be rewarded with great rewards.

As for the rest, your only choice is to become our slaves. All your sacrifices and sufferings are for the great Darkness."

- Duc Huy! – A voice resounded. It's very familiar.

While Duc Huy was still surprised by the words ringing in his head, he was happy when his father appeared. In the past, he was fun when he met his father too. However, it's because he was always easy on his purchases. Now, that's real father-son love.

- Dad! - Duc Huy shouted.

- I know you're here right now! When I heard the news, I drove a car to fly here. – Father of Duc Huy said. - Run to find shelter first.

- Then, why don't we use a flying car to get out of here? – The boy asked.

- Look. – The man spoke up and pointed to the wreckage of dozens of flying vehicles with disfigured bodies that his children did not dare to look at.

Duc Huy saw flying cars crashing into each other. However, these seem to have been toasted and then torn to pieces because the weapon was more powerful than the electromagnetic gun. The boy wondered what had caused this.

Then, under the pitch-black sky, raindrops began to fall. Although the rain seemed to be heavy, it could not stop the endless columns of smoke and fire rising from the nearly thousand-meter-tall skyscrapers. The buildings that once symbolized prosperous development were now just eerily quiet. Many buildings were torn in half by a force as strong as the way one cuts a tree branch. Such scenes take place not only in a small place but also in an entire city.

- Now it's raining again! - Duc Huy said angrily. – Even if it rains, it cannot be this dark.

Indeed, the blue sky was eerily turning black. A sense of fear is pervading everything.

- It could also be due to their dark magic. – The father spoke up and clicked on the secret communication system with someone.

- Dad! What did you just say? - The child wondered – What is "black magic"!?

- Forget it! – Cha Huy spoke up. – If you survive this, I will tell you everything, about the basement of our house, about what happened to you a year ago in Hoi An. Moreover, I will tell you what's happening, as well.

A year ago, what Huy remembers is that he was injected with something that made him feel extremely painful. No matter how much I asked my parents, they would not answer.

Putting the thought out of his head in his own words, the boy tried to find a place where he could hide.

- Notre Dame Cathedral* is still intact! - Duc Huy spoke up.

Compared to other buildings that are being seriously destroyed, Notre Dame Cathedral in Saigon seemed to be more stable, although it's so badly damaged that no one can see it. Inside, under the icons of God, from the fire that enveloped all. Smoldering flames made crackling sounds. Part of the church was so badly damaged that one could see the death scene outside.

In a corner of this famous building that was about to become a relic, Duc Huy's family went to hide. Coincidentally, his mother, a woman in her thirties, was also there.

- Why are you here? – The father asked. - I told you to stay at home!

- So, what do you want me to do when the monsters appear and you leave me alone to find our son!? - The mother replied.

The argument then broke off as the woman and child struggled to fight the trauma caused by the growing smell of blood.

- Have the invaders gone, father? - The boy asked as the ground shook. And then suddenly there was an earthquake. However, Vietnam had no earthquakes.

- Lie down, Duc Huy! The enemy can see now! – His father said.

At that moment, he was still wearing a business suit. The father was like a mountain protecting the child and the wife. The wife herself also dressed in the style of popular office clothes because no one thought there would be a monster attack today.

When the other man finished speaking, a blue creature appeared from among the ruined buildings. They were about fifteen feet tall and had three legs like three bamboos. The head looked like a giant jellyfish with eyes that were redder than blood.

- What other monstrous creature is this!?

- Silent! – Father Duc Huy spoke up.

- You talk too loud, as well! – The mother said.

Although his mom was severe upon Duc Huy, she was a person who always genuinely cared about father and son. There was no single maid robot on Earth and the Moon could compare to her.

Meanwhile, the entity, creature, or anything definable stopped and turned its head towards the direction where Duc Huy and his son were hiding. Slowly, it moves to hunt for its target. The ground was shaken by the monster's footsteps.

When he saw the monster begin to pass through the church without noticing them, Duc Huy's father spoke up:

- We have to go now!

However, the other alien entity discovered them. From under his stomach, a device that looked like a cylinder twice the size of a cannon was pointed straight at Huy's family. A stream of blue lightning shot straight at their family. Fortunately, it only damaged the pavement, not killed anyone. However, it also scared the boy so much that he couldn't move.

Meanwhile, the rest of his family had reached a corner that they thought was extremely safe.

- Where is Duc Huy!? - The man shouted.

Right now, the boy was facing the giant creature. It was like he was trapped in his own body.

- Duc Huy! Run over here, demon! - The man spoke up.

- Run over here, son! - The mother shouted.

Even so, the boy still stood like a statue. Duc Huy was too scared to do anything. Meanwhile, the cannon barrel of the monster was shining brightly. Although he knew nothing about the weapons of these monsters, the boy knew he was about to die. For his part, the man understood that he had only one chance to do something.

In his dirty business suit, he ran as fast as he had ever run. Maybe he hasn't been this active in years.

Right now, the boy could only scream, but the sound was meaningless as the blue lightning flashed.

- I'm still alive...!? – He spoke surprisingly – Father…

At this moment, every layer of skin, muscle, and all important parts of the man's body were gradually disappearing. The whole skeleton also gradually turned black and then turned to ash. A large pool of blood appeared and shot directly at the boy's raincoat.

- No!!! – The woman shouted.

Then she met a dark and relentless fate, like her husband. The body decomposed to ashes before his son's eyes.

In that scene, the boy's reaction was complicated. Honestly, he had never been a good child until now. He was just lucky to be born in the richest country in the world, into a family that loved him dearly. Only now did he understand how people felt two hundred years ago when facing their enemies.

"Every time I smile at them, I just want to buy something new." - The boy thought to himself.

Then the boy screwed up his courage, he looked directly at the monster and shouted.

- Invaders!

It was a really stupid decision. However, the child wanted to do something. He knew he would never be like the greats in Vietnamese history because he was about to follow his parents.

Currently, the jellyfish-shaped monster with three legs like a stir-fry tree was still slowly moving towards Duc Huy. Suddenly, the other entity stopped when it was hit by a series of things. Some people were moving like Spider-man around the monster. It instantly shoots energy beams to destroy them. The others also fired strange weapons at it. A series of soldiers in bizarre costumes died.

At that moment, from behind, a soldier appeared, firing dozens of mini-missiles piercing the monster's armor. The back of its neck exploded. The red eyes soon turn black.

Finally, it fell a few meters to Du Huy. Fortunately, a soldier pulled it to the back. Thank them, Huy was not crushed to death.

- Why am I… still alive? - The boy asked himself – What did I do to live while my parents and many people had to die…?
