Outside the window was the pitch-black night, yet Lu Changchuan didn't feel sleepy at all.
He'd been in Germany for a few days, and had hardly gotten a good night's sleep.
Almost subconsciously, he dialed Ye Wan's number, but he could tell something was off from the girl's irritable voice.
"Wanwan..."
Lu Changchuan's voice was grave, "What's wrong? Did something happen?"
"Ah. No..."
Ye Wan sat up, frantically fixing her hair, and it took her a while to realize it was a phone call and not a video call, "I'm fine. What about you? Why are you calling me so early; did something unhappy happen?"
Early?
Lu Changchuan belatedly realized that it was still before dawn back home.
"I'm sorry, I've disturbed you..."
As he spoke his apologies, yet Lu Changchuan showed no inclination to hang up the phone at all.
The girl's voice seemed to possess a magical power over him.
It was like a cool spring flowing beside a volcano on the verge of eruption.
