Penelope was soaking in the hot bath, watching the steam hanging around her in the bathroom suite that was separate from the bedroom chamber. It was so relaxing. If only she could just stay here and let the steam keep her head cloudy and at peace. Then she wouldn't have to think about everything that had happened within the last three years. Or within the last twenty four hours.
She sighed heavily, hoping Zane wasn't scared or in pain. Hoping her baby boy was okay. Zagan had tried to prepare her for this, but he didn't even remember when his heart arrested. He had lived for hundreds of years. He had no memory of his life before he passed into his non life.
So Penelope couldn't be sure what Zane was going through. But he had to feel alone… so very alone. Why wouldn't they let her and Cora see him? If only she could go and just… be there. Have her presence in the space he was in so he could feel her.
