A soft, comfortable hum had consumed her body, and she didn't want to leave sleep. Everything was safe and perfect. So when a loud clap of thunder shook the trees just outside of the treehouse, Gia burrowed herself further back against the safety that had aligned itself behind her.
He was here. Finally. Sage had returned to her.
Her eyes shot open at the thought and she scurried out of bed, backing away as she stared wide eyed at the male who was lying there staring at her. Sage was here with her. It wasn't a dream.
"It's okay, Gigi," he said, sliding off the side of the bed.
"You're here," she said, her mouth hanging open in shock. "Why? Why are you here?"
"You were missing," he said, swallowing hard.
