"Sage," David said in surprise when he found the male pacing the living room of the outpost.
David had just come back to look for Gia since he hadn't heard from her for several hours. He figured that she may have found Sage at the pack house after the meeting and finally gotten a chance to resolve things. If that were the case, it wasn't something he wanted to interrupt.
"Hey, Dave. Have you seen your sister?" Sage asked, his eyes going wide with unrestrained hope.
It was strange seeing Sage now after twelve years. He looked similar, of course. He had the same green eyes and unruly black hair, but he had filled out into a grown version of himself. His voice was lower than it had been as a teenager, and now he had a more physically commanding presence. David just stared at him, as if he was reconciling this male with the one from his memory.
"Dave?" Sage repeated his name, snapping David from his thoughts.
