"How long do you think we will have to do this?" Gia asked her brother as he prepared to jump into his wolf and run with the guards who they had stationed along the Lakeside border.
"Forever?" David shrugged with a small chuckle. Gia did not look amused. "There's not an answer to that. Who knows how long this threat will last?"
He could see how Gia had become physically withdrawn, afraid to even see anyone at this point. That is why he was going to be the one running along the perimeter while she would remain at the outpost looking over the list of those they were overseeing in this section of the pack.
It was so unlike her to be this quiet and reclusive, it made his heart ache. She was always the bubbly, outgoing one who greeted everyone they passed. She reminded him a lot of their mother in that way.
