Chapter 83 - Tower Room

Everything told Theo that this was the wrong thing to do—to carry his precious mate to a prison room in a dark tower where she would be locked away to undergo something that would likely be horrifying for her. He didn't want to leave her alone. The idea tore him up inside. Cora would be scared and confused and who knows what else. 

But Penelope Goddamn Winter was persuading him that this was the best thing. The royal family would not hurt Cora—they could not hurt her! She was a vampire now with immortality who also happened to have the ability to strike others of her kind with beating hearts. She was overpowered more than any of them here. 

"I need to stay with her," he said gruffly after lying her on the bed in one of the prison rooms.

Penelope removed one of the sheets and handed it to him without meeting his eyes.

"What is this for?" He asked with a frown.
