Chapter 81 - Perfect Pair

Theo shifted back to his human form, and then his hands were in her hair and running along her face, caressing her arms and the invisible ache that he could feel on her wrists like it was his own. 

"Cora," he said it so desperately that the sound ached in her chest.

"Theo," she whispered back, saying his name again like it was a prayer that was waking her up, causing her to remember. And the memories of the night in the dungeon came flooding back. "Goddess, I forgot you," she said, a sob catching in her throat and happy tears pricking her eyes at the way his caress felt like the comfort she had been seeking—the home she had felt that had been hollowed out and hidden from her. 

"Are you okay?" His dark angular face pinched in worry, the depth of his eyes continuing to glow a vibrant golden hue as he searched her like he had known her all of his life.
