David made his way to the pack house after he got cleaned up. He wasn't able to convince Gia to come with him, but he didn't push her. He knew why she was refusing, and his parents had likely let her be for the same reason.
Sage was back.
He sighed heavily. He remembered that time after Sage had left to go pursue further education when his sister had been absolutely inconsolable. It was difficult for all of them, because no one knew how to help her.
Gia had stopped doing the things she enjoyed. She had stopped bossing everyone around. She had even stopped eating for a time. She and Sage had been so close for several years, ever since Gia was five or six. She followed him around like a puppy even though he was quite a bit older—nine or ten years older, in fact.
