Grayson watched Penelope for another beat, wondering about the full truth that she was not revealing. Something more had happened with Cora than what she was telling him.
"The lycan seems to have some ability that surprised my guards," he said, his black eyes narrowing further to watch for her reactions to this detail.
"Ability?" She asked in genuine surprise. "What does that mean?"
He blew out a breath and glanced away from her. Obviously this was not something she was expecting, which meant she wouldn't be able to provide him information on it.
"I'm not sure. I was hoping you could enlighten me about it."
She frowned and shook her head. "Lycans don't have 'abilities'," she said. "That's why the alyko have always been persecuted to such an extent."
