"Cora? Mom?" Theo called, rushing through the portal and toward where he could see everyone gathered.
Evie was still in his arms. He waded through the pack members, some who he recognized as having been injured when he left and who now appeared fine. When he finally got to the center, he saw Cora's beautiful beaming face watching his parents who were embracing and kissing on the ground.
His usual response was to groan at seeing them display their love for each other so openly, because it was something that they always did—all the time, regardless of where they were. But this time he only had the most profound sense of relief, and tears came to his eyes instead. His mother was okay. Cora was okay. His pack… everyone was okay. It was a miracle.
