Graeme and Zane froze in their tracks along with all of the other lycans who belonged to the Hallowell pack. The enemy wolves had just… disappeared.
"What the hell just happened?" Lucas called out. He had just returned with the backup crew from Lakeside. "Did they just vanish into thin air?"
"Well that was easier than even I thought," Zane chuckled in an arrogant way to receive a glare from Graeme.
"It can't just be over. No way," he said to himself. "Lucas, check in with everyone else, including Neoma at the pack house."
"On it!"
"I don't sense any danger," Zane told him, leaning against a nearby tree. "The hostility is gone."
"August," Graeme mumbled. "It must have something to do with her mother."
