"Bells, would you mind sharing your gift and what it is you have seen about what awaits us?" Graeme asked, gesturing to the girl next to David.
"Of course," she said, biting her lip and glancing at her parents.
Next to her, David's hands curled into soft fists under the table. It felt like she was being exposed in a way that she did not wish to be, and his instinct to protect her from that exposure was coursing within him. But this was what was necessary. Everyone needed to know the validity of the future she had seen and that he had shared with his father, his cousin, and Graeme. There was a small lie he had told buried within, but the urgency of what was coming was real. They all needed to be prepared.
