"Home," Cora repeated softly. "It's nice," she said, following him up to the house with a round turret over the front door.
Nearly the whole first floor was visible once she was inside. The living room gave way to the open kitchen behind it with an island and stools and a dining table beyond that, and further back were sliding glass doors to the backyard. A stairway to the right led up to the second floor.
"Do you want to eat, shower, rest?" Theo asked.
"Shower first." Even though she was no longer covered in blood, the memory still remained on her skin.
"How about you shower, and I'll figure out something to eat?" He offered gently.
