"The fae," Cora said softly, glancing back toward the woods where she, too, heard the whispering.
"They are here because you brought them here," Theo said, following her gaze. "You are more than what the Camazotz want you to be. You are more than a vampire."
"And more than your mate," a feminine whisper came close to his ear, and he shivered, shaking it away. Of course Cora was more than just his mate. She was so much more. She couldn't be contained within that label alone. But hearing it come from an ethereal, disembodied voice made his hackles prickle. He didn't need to hear it from anyone else.
