"Something is different," Cora said, going still when she felt a sweeping whisper rustle the air at her feet.
Theo turned from where he was still staring Grayson down, his ears picking up the same sound. "The fae," he said, his gaze darting up to her. "They're here."
"What?" She shook her head, eyebrows pinched. "What do you mean?"
"What you made… it invited them in. Sage heard them underground," he returned to her side, staring at the barren earth surrounding them in case there was any evidence of their presence other than the whisper.
"Underground?" Her eyes went wide. "You took him underground? Sage? He is here with you?"
"Underground?" Grayson repeated, taking a step forward, his head tilting to the side in curiosity.
