"Are you ready?" Zane asked his sister, standing in his tux just inside of her bedroom door. Ambrosia had sent him instead of Grayson to escort her downstairs.
There was to be a gathering beforehand with all of the clan leaders in one of the palace dining rooms, which to Cora seemed like one of the most dangerous parts of this whole plan of Ambrosia's. If anyone wanted to do away with Gray Vale's newest royal daughter before the official ritual took place at high moon, this would be the time to do it. But she was thankful for the interim between being caged in her room like a precious bird and emerging from a pool of blood as a different kind of winged creature altogether.
