August's eyes darted to Graeme. He was instructing Theo to take Sage with him to Gray Vale, so there was no debate. She had learned never to question him in front of anyone after he had given a command, but her thoughts immediately went to Gia. She was going to have a hard time letting her mate go. Mates were always stronger together.
"I don't need anyone to go with me except Zagan," Theo scowled at his father. "We can handle it. I don't know how long it will take."
"What you don't need is to argue with your Alpha," Graeme said, but his voice had returned to normal and his eyes had softened. Now he was just dad—a worried, sympathetic dad.
