It was so early in the morning that Theo's parents, Graeme and August, were still at home. They had not yet gone to the pack house to begin the daily routines that mapped out their time.
Since everything was secure now that the dome was in place, and all of the security patrols were beefed up and running smoothly, they tried to maintain at least the normalcy of sleeping at home.
"Are you hungry?" Graeme nuzzled his mate's neck as he spooned her, pulling the softness of her back against the hardness of him.
August didn't answer. She closed her eyes and let his security and calm work at blanketing the fear that was her constant companion now. Theo still was not home. Perhaps they had not heard from the rival packs or had another incident because they had captured him.
