Theo snarled again, trying to give the lycan on his tail another warning about who it was he was pursuing. Alphas had a characteristic depth to their voice that no other wolf could imitate, so there was no question that the one advancing on them was aware that Theo was in the Alpha line of some pack. But apparently that was of little importance to the stranger, because he snarled back without letting up.
This was quite likely someone from Shining Rock since there was no other lycan pack that was in the immediate area. Theo flashed back to what Gia had said about other packs backing Thundering Falls. She had not said which packs those were exactly, but with how aggressive this chase was going, he was willing to bet Shining Rock was one of them.
If a pack were in what might be considered 'war time,' they were hostile toward any outsider, regardless of who it may be. Anyone who had not announced themselves about being in the area was assumed to be an enemy first.
