Cora was trying not to hyperventilate while she paced in her room, desperate wringing her hands and muttering to herself after the guards had brought her back from Ambrosia's study.
She was panicking. She had basically tried to kill the Queen. She had tried to give her a beating heart, which to Ambrosia would be exactly the same thing as killing her. And that was treason, wasn't it? That was the last thing Cora should have ever done, especially because it didn't work! It didn't work, and why didn't it work? What secret did Ambrosia have that now made her invulnerable to Cora's ability?
This changed everything. Cora no longer had the upper hand. She was no longer someone that the royal family had to fear. If there was a way that they had found to keep from being subjected to the life that Cora had flowing from her hands, then they could make Cora do absolutely anything, couldn't they?
