Sage went into the cell first, and all three males recognized him at once. This was the one who had somehow made them fall into the pit and then trapped them with vines that sprung across it. If they had not been wary of alyko or the Hallowell pack to begin with, this was enough of an experience to secure that fear for good. 

It didn't help that Sage had a murderous look in his emerald eyes as soon as he was confronted with them again. He was immediately back in that memory—talking to David, reluctant to unbury his mate bond, thinking Gia was actually okay and just off somewhere hiding from everyone. The reason he had not worried about her was because she was so capable. She was so fierce.
