"Finally," David growled when his sister and Sage finally walked into the conference room on the second floor of the pack house that was now transformed into a situation or war room.
"Gia," her dad said in relief, dropping the papers he was looking at and rushing to snatch her up in a hug. "Thank the Goddess you are okay."
He gave Sage a meaningful look as he hugged his daughter to him, thanking him silently for being there and helping her. It was a nightmare to realize that Gia had been taken. Nothing like that had ever happened before—not in at least several decades. Not since Graeme had become Alpha.
Sage dropped his eyes. This was Sam. It was odd in a way to know that he was mated to Sam and Greta's daughter, and knowing now how much Gia had struggled over the years during his absence, he felt an incredible pang of guilt. They must think so little of him, and these were two people he had the utmost respect for.
