Sage and Gia returned to pack land through Sage's portal, which dropped them right back into the treehouse. It was the best place Sage could think of to return without risking running into anyone who would question where they had been. They needed time to figure out how they were going to tell August and Graeme what they discovered.
"At least we know that he is safe," Gia sighed, sitting heavily on the bed as she stared absently into the air in front of her. It was a relief to be back within the borders of the pack. She didn't ever want to have to return to that place again. It was stripped of everything that felt like home—color, warmth, life, light. "Poor Theo."
"He is not safe," Sage crossed his arms over his chest. "Not when he is in Gray Vale. Neither is Cora. He is alive, though. That is more than I was expecting, honestly."
