"I don't understand how you can do this and not be sacrificing something of yourself," Theo said, taking her hand again and rubbing his thumb over her fingers.
"It doesn't feel that way at all," she shrugged. "It's a relief actually. I have been stuck here in Gray Vale for three years, and I wasn't allowed to do anything like this. When Grayson gave me this land, it was such a surprise. It felt like what I had been holding in could finally be freed."
The mention of the second vampire prince sent a renewed spike of possession through Theo's thoughts, and he clenched his teeth. Grayson. Grayson had given her this land? Was he trying to get close to her even then?
"It's not like that," Cora frowned.
Theo scoffed, a sound halfway between a breathy chuckle of amusement and disbelief. She was tangled in his thoughts again. It was not always going to be convenient having her hear what was unspoken.
